So, I fly from New York to Texas to visit my folks, expecting great, warm March weather, and no. There's snow here in Dallas, too. About 5 inches, ice, and it's COLD. Sigh. Sorry I needed to whine.
I just finished reading the Bone Garden from Tess Gerritsen and really enjoyed it. It's the story of a woman who finds an old skeleton buried in her garden and tries to find out what happened to the murder victim by researching the past. The story is told by switching between present time and the events of the past, and I thought the historical parts were quite fascinating. There was a lot of medical history, and a storyline that involved a Jack the Ripper sort of character. If you like your forensic books, this one is very good. As a bonus, it includes the historical character of Oliver Wendell Holmes ( I love it when people slide in actual historical figures).

Better the snow and ice than
Better the snow and ice than tornedos and dime size hail we had here in south Texas.
Two tornedos touched down just about 1/2 mile from my house.
ELLEN TOO
A true teacher is a person who, at the end of the school day, still likes children!
Scary!!
Ellen!! I hope all is well. Tornados are truly the worst!! Stay safe.
I'm not much liking all
this cold and then warm and then cold weather. I'm ready for a little warmer weather to stay. Sorry you came during bad weather.
Ellen heard about the tornadoes that is scary especially when it's so close to you.
The Bone Garden was great but the flashback scenes of the doctors doing rounds and not washing before examining the women about grossed me out. I love Tess's books. The Mephisto Club is another great story by her.
