Snowbound

Book #19- Fiona MacPherson,a teacher, and her 8 teenage students are traveling home from a school event when a blizzard hits in Oregon's Cascade Mountains. Fortunately one of the students remembered a lodge his family stayed at in this area. They manage to find Thunder Mountain Lodge, which is owned by John Fallon, a veteran wounded in Irag. So begins the adventure for these 10 people.iona insists they all help with meals and chores which is new to these students who are from upper class families. Time passes well as they all adjust to being here, and the feelings grow between John and Fiona.

Life returns to normal for them all, then Fiona returns to the lodge for Christmas. The night before she left,John asked her to quit her job, stay and marry him. Her reaction was"You're not serious.',but John definitely was. She explained she couldn't leave her commitment to her classroom and she is working on getting her master's degree. He told her he is dealing with his PTSD in his own way. Surprisingly,Fiona left abruptly with no kiss or words which seems to end what was a promising relationship.

In mid-March,Fiona goes on a date wth the new vice principal, but sparks don't fly. Plus the students ask her for John's email, which she finds out is to can update him on her life. This prompts John to do serious thinking, which leads to many changes for him. He shows up at Fiona's where they had a long talk where he bared his soul. Fiona then says she will take a year leave of absence, finish her degree long distance ,and become an innkeeper's wife. A wedding is planned at the lodge where they met, with the students and their parents
plus Fiona and John's families.

Yes, I feel John does fit the story very well by adding a nice twist to Fiona's life.I think he would suit me well, and the life at the lodge would be a challenge. Yes, I think the guy on the cover does fit my picture of John. This was a really enjoyable read, and I would recommend it to anyone.
