Kudos to the design team ~ I really love you've done with the place.
So anyway, I don't know where I'll post my ratings 'thing' or hey, how 'bout the folders that I did month-by-month of the books that I read. I wonder if I'll be able to set something like that up?
This year, I decided to change my Rating system... I want something that's more consistent and so I borrowed from here, snitched from there and took a whole whack of stuff from elsewhere to come up with... TA DA:

Excellence Rating Scale:
OUTSTANDING ~ 5 stars (a story I will not soon forget ~ Beautiful, touching, beyond belief!)
Excellent ~ 4 stars (Definitely a keeper and a re-read)
Great / Very Good ~ 3 stars (an excellent one-time read, not necessarily a keeper)
Recommend / Good ~ 2 stars (recommendable ~ good to read once, probably not a keeper)
Okay / Fair ~ 1 star (all right to read once, definitely not a keeper)
Poor / Regrettable ~ 0 stars (what a waste of time; may not have even bothered to finish it)
Sexual Content Rating:
Friends: no sex, kisses only
Romantic: making out; possibly behind door sex
Sensual: moderately explicit sex; no forbidden words
Yummy: explicit sex; no forbidden words
Heat Wave: explicit sex with forbidden words
Inferno: explicit sex; kinky; very graphic language; anything goes

I'm not sure what to do with ratings this year...hmm...something to think about. I had also planned on copying your neat tables that showed your monthly reads--thought that was a great way of organizing things.
Well...we'll figure things out as we go.
As for wordiness, Kathy, I don't think that was a problem at all. You always did a really nice job of breaking up your reviews with different colours or boldness or something to emphasize the different paragraphs--kept them easy to read, so I never found them wordy.
I like your rating system ....
and I didn't find your reviews too wordy .... I thought they gave just the right amount of info about the book and I really enjoy reading your opinions ..... so no need to change a thing!
I think it will take a bit for the new set up to sink and settle in ..... I'm looking forward to seeing how Teams will work ...

Hi KathyK - just logged on about 1 hour ago and have managed to set up my profile (I think!). I'm confused about the team bit? I thought KathyD and I were Novel Obsession but not sure how that is going to work. Looks like everyone is on their own. I guess that is okay - it's just KathyD & I spent so much time planning a name and rating list and our profiles around the team that I'm kind of disappointed.
I'm glad we have KatherineT - I think she is our resident expert until we are comfortable with this.
But I'm glad that we are on-line. Here's to a good year!

Jayne just enabled a whole slew of editing tools for us to play with .... at first when they launched we only had bare bones and that didn't make many happy campers LOL ...... but now I think we can have some fun!

Hey there - yes, I saw all the postings flying fast and furious. I bet it will be a late night for those techies back east. BTW I like your picture. I wasn't comfortable with an actual photograph (I didn't want the other challengers to be jealous when they see how much I look like Julia Roberts!) So I just used Cool Text for my initials - I kinda like it!

to add friends ....
whenever you come across someone you'd like to add as a friend, simply click on their name ... their "Profile" page will come up ... there's a spot to click on to near their name "add as friend" ...just click on that and it will ask you to confirm, do that and just wait for the person to accept ... as far as I know once you have a person on your list, you will appear on theirs as well .....
Ellejay, on your signature, be sure to put the font back to normal at the end of your blurb ... that's why the posts after yours is changing to match your signature format ... I think in your signature section is the only spot that html seems to work! so put in the tags to change the font back to normal </font> that sort of thing

Click on someone's name in a

I think one of the things that I enjoyed most about the whole challenge / blogging thing is that everyone has their own way of doing things, and it usually works very well. Definitely shows our individuality.
