The Soldier and the Rose

This was a bittersweet story about a woman who loses her first love, her soul mate, in the second World War.

Rose is such a strong character, and I became engrossed in this story from the first chapter. She endures a great deal of pain but she forces herself to keep going despite it. This tale took me back in time to a different place and a different era. Yet it reminded me that though time changes, fashion changes, lifestyles change--people's feelings and the way they deal with tragedy stay the same. This was a great story.

The Soldier and The Rose

I loved this book when I read it last year.  Like you I couldn't put it down.  I was totally engrossed.  In his own way Charlie was every bit as much a war hero as those who gave their lives for our country.

I rarely email an author when I finish a book, but I felt so compelled to after I finished this book.

I have said numerous times, but not once this year, I'm so sad to see this line cease publishing, and hope as they move into the SuperRomance line, that they're uniqueness is not lost.

Outside of a dog a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read. Groucho Marx

I agree!

I, too am so disappointed to see the end of Everlasting. I still have a couple of titles left to read... I guess you could say I am saving them! But I am really glad that the series will still be available through Superromance. Maybe more people will stumble across them and give them a try.
