If you are looking for something to pull your heartstrings, try this addition to The McKaslin Clan series. I’ve enjoyed reading Ms. Hart’s series, and she has yet to disappoint. What starts out as simple trip to a bookstore for a birthday present for his mom, turns into a chance meeting with an old high school friend for this Force Recon Marine.
Seeing Mitch again brings a happiness that Kelly has not experienced in a long while, but is she ready to face a past of hurts in order to be closer to Mitch? And will Mitch still want her as a friend when he learns of her past? Can she just be a friend and not long for more? Can the two remain friends while she is working full time and going to college in Montana and he is in Afghanistan?
It’s remarkable how soldiers are able to communicate in this day and age and via email, IM, and phone cards are able to connect with loved ones a half world away. As the two communicate with one another and grow closer it’s amazing to see Mitch’s love for Kelly unfold and his patience while she tries to keep herself from becoming dependent on someone only to be hurt once again.
So, look for this one, even if you’ve not read the entire series, you’ll receive a blessing from Mitch and Kelly’s struggle. Then, you might just want to hunt down the previous titles and catch up with this series!
