A Soldier's Family

I loved Cheryl Wyatt's book.  As usual, she's forging through new gorund as a Christian romance writer with  A Soldier's Family.

I applaud Cheryl for writing about her hero, Manny's struggles with how he preceives Celia, the very attractive heroine, who carries an industrial sized mascarra wand.  He's totally attracted to her, a goner, and he has to becareful, as one who's newly converted to Christianity, as to how he handles himself.  And I'm soooo glad that SH published it.

I also liked that Celia gave herself permission to present herself as an attractive, well put together, stylish Christian woman.  Her presentation of herself also included a "no nonsense" element, which I think speaks volumnes to men, saying "don't make the mistake of getting out of line w/me."

Christian single people who are falling in love are going to have these struggles in the first stages of infatuation and attraction, and later as the love deepens.  This is what Christian single people feel and face during the early romance and formal engagement period.  I think this book nailed it.

The other element that I LOVED about this book was the maturity of this couple.  They both had huge personal baggage to work out, but neither shirked responsibilities.  Both were very aware they were role models for Celia's teenage son.
