The Soldier's Homecoming

I absolutely loved this book.  I downloaded it and stayed up and read it that same night.  It moved me to tears several times and ensured that I will look up other books by this author.

It was heartwarming and realistic, especially the soldier's mental difficulties, as well as his physical ones, after returning home from a war zone.  The heroine was rightly protective over her daughter and this also made the story so believable.

I would highly recommend this book.

RE: THE SOLDIER'S HOMECOMING by Donna Alward

I read your review, Hullfire, and it is great.  This is one of my favourite books, and Donna is one of my favourite authors.  Donna is a very real person that is touched by the trials her readers experience.

The book is special to me because I am a U.S. Marine. I've fought in two wars, and 'helped' in many "struggles" the U.S./Allies have had.

Me brothers and I also have had many friends (older than I) that fought in Vietnam, and came back shells of their former selves -- those that lived, that is.  Many of those we knew were killed in battle.

I also receive treatment for me mind -- part of which was lost during battle -- I'm not 'retarded', and me mind problems are not recognizable to those that don't know me -- but one question: Where ARE the weapons of mass destruction?

Thank you, both.  I continue to be so pleased that this book is touching people as it really touched me as I wrote it.

 Cheers,

Donna
