Ok - this blog is going to be a bit longer than my usual blog. So feel free to skip. I had heard great reviews of this book, so it inspired me to try my first LI. Then a couple of scenes occured that had me questioning whether the LI line is for me. However rather than just going with my feelings, I questioned why I had them. The scenes had to do with several people asking Amber if Joel was a Christian. Truthfully, this really bothered me - what if he wasn't she shouldn't be with him, then it hit me, this was a personal hot button. Two of my friends have dealt with the faith issue - one whose father on his deathbed got her to swear to marry within her faith and another whose in-laws had serious issues with her prior to her marriage because she was a different faith than her husband. Once, I was able to see that it was a personal issue, not the book's issue, I was able to go back and read the book and really enjoy it.
The book itself is amazing. The emotions that both Amber and Joel have to deal with are real. I loved that Amber's inability to have children was not some big secret or that she felt unworthy because of it. The conclusion scene worked for both the story and the relationship.
Overall, this was an excellent book and I will definately be reading Ms. Wyatt again.

I enjoyed reading
I enjoyed reading a book that wasn't full of sex when I read this one. I don't think most people would question if someone was a christian but there are stringent guidelines to writing for this line so maybe that was the reason. I started the next book last night. Not very far along but it grabbed me from the beginning.

After I wrote this blog, I worried that someone might think I didn't like the book, I did it was excellent. I think the line just hit a personal point in me and pulled me out of the story and into my own life.
Deb, the lack of sex didn't bother me at all. I loved the way the story revolved around their emotions and how their actions showed their character.
