Somewhere Down In Texas - Ann Defee - Harlequin American Romance - March/07
Backcover Synopsis - The Barbecue Isn't The Only Thing Heating Up!
Marci Hamilton loves her hometown of Port Serenity, but life's been a little dull lately. So she enters a barbecue-sauce cook-off with her flamboyant sister, Sissy Aguirre. The events are held all over Texas and sponsored by country music superstar J. W. Watson. Marci's heard of J.W. but sure wouldn't recognize him, so when their car breaks down on the way to the first cook-off and Marci gets some unexpeted help from a handsome cowboy, she has no idea that "Johnny Walker" is none other than J.W. himself!
After a previous relationship disaster--with a guy featured on America's Most Wanted-- Marci is understandably cautious. But the battle against falling in love with Johnny is a losing one. This time around, Marci isn't sure if she's going to get burned or if she's cooking up a Texas-size happy ending along with that award-winning barbecue sauce!
Personal Opinion - This was a delightful book which had me giggling in many spots. It was nice to read of a romance between two older individuals who have grown families who added spice to the romance. Ann DeFee is a new author for me and her writing certainly has a humourous side to it.

RE: SOMEWHERE DOWN IN TEXAS by Ann DeFee
GR8 REVIEW, MISS M! Sounds like a fantastic story line. There was a popular George Strait movie similar to this a few years back, "Pure Country." I enjoyed that, as I know I'd enjoy this book.

That was her third book in the Texas series, the first is about the daughter of this h and the second is about a friend of the daughter's. I was surprised that she wrote about the mom, but it was a great story. I just ordered her newest book, which is about a small-town in Georgia.
