The Sorceress of Belmair

Dragons, and faeries and kings....oh MY!

I had NO idea what I was in for when I picked up Bertrice Small's latest installment in the World of Hetar. Well, that's not entirely true. I read the back cover copy which promised magical gifts and dark secrets and forgotten worlds....all good. There's even a double moon on the cover behind a haughty faced woman in pink, and she's holding what looks like a magical sceptre...even better. What I wasn't prepared for was the SEX!!

Holy Hannah, these beings like to...um, do it, and shape shift and then...er, do it again...and, well you get the idea. There are insatiable and unrepentent faerie flirts, gourmandizing dragons with salacious appetites, simpering sorceresses, scheming barons, mermaids and mermen, royal mistresses and more comings and goings than you can shake a stick at. And yet, I really liked these people and their other worldy-problems, and it was a great escape into what felt like a really good grown up fairy tale. King Dillon was clever and resourceful, likeable and sexy, and the story had me gobbling up the pages to find out how he was going to rescue his beloved Queen Cinnia from the bad guys....and wow, did I mention it was sexy? I just wasn't expecting it.

Bertrice Small says on her website, "THE SORCERESS OF BELMAIR brings you a lovely heroine in the form of Cinnia, the daughter of Belmair's previous king. She must wed Dillon, and their union is nothing short of amazing in every way. And as Dillon has become a man so has his uncle, the faerie prince, Cirillo, who was schooled in the magical arts by Kaliq as well. I think you will be rather delighted with Cirillo as a grown faerie man. And then my favorite character in this story. Nidhug, the guardian of Belmair; a beautiful female dragon with, as I have previously mentioned, a taste for gourmet food, and gourmet sex. And of course there is a mystery to be solved in this book. But that is all I will tell you for now"

And I'm not going to tell you either...but if you love fantasy and don't mind a litte...ok, a LOT of spice, this is one heck of a story! And it's no wonder to me now, that Bertrice Small has been nominated for a Romantic Times Storyteller of the Year" award.

One of my all time favorite authors!

I love Bertrice Small's writing and have the first 3 book in this series but have only read the first one and I did love it. This sounds really good and interesting. She always was good with the spice stuff. I will have to get this!

LOL Jayne on being surprised by the

sex - I haven't read much by her, but I have seen her name in erotica anthologies, so wouldn't have been surprised myself

Sounds like you enjoyed it all
