Dani hates attending the parties her mother loves, everyone seems so fake. Give her the animals at the zoo anyday. When her mother finally notices she is even there Dani is critizied for her little black dress that is no longer a curent fashion. What her mother never seems to realize is that Dani is happiest at the zoo taking care of the mammals. In fact, today she was promoted to Head Mammal Keeper with a teeny increase in salary.
Shayne, one of Sky High Owners, can't help but notice the delightful woman that seems out of place with all the sleek, sophisticated people attending the party that Sandra, a client, insisted he throw. She is sweetly disheveled instead of put together like the other guests. Wondering who she is Shayne gets a chance to find out when the heel breaks on her ridiculously high heels and he goes to her side.
When the man right out of GQ appears at her side parts of Dani get very happy when he touches her to offer his help. Not knowing who he is Dani is warmed by his kindness. After spending more time with Shayne, in fact, ending up in a supply closet where she experiences the best kiss of her life Dani flees the party only to discover rain pouring down outside! Foolishly she didn't stop to grab her coat. As she decides to go back for the coat she sees someone get shot, she hears the gun, she sees the body fall. Terrified she goes back inside to get help. When Dani and Shayne run outside to help, there is no body, no sign of blood, it is as if nothing ever happened. Shayne is wondering about Dani reputation as a "crazy" person.
This is a wonderfully delightful story about two people discovering each other, humourous mishaps, unexplainable attempts to scare Dani or end her life all woven into a story you don't want to put down.

This story sounds wonderful
Hi Donna,
What a great review. After reading it I went to my library website and put a hold on this book. These blogs are not good for my TBR pile. I am trying to get through my Blaze backlog - am reading the 2nd Million Dollar Secrets book - and my SRS backlog. I'm also trying to read at least 2 books from my older TBR (before year 2000) every month. This is not happening because I keep putting books on hold at the library after reading a wonderful review, then when they come in I have to read them before their due date. I really need to spend less time on eharl. and more time reading. Oh well, thanks for the great review anyway.
Kathy
Hi Kathy K,
These blogs are very dangerous to the TBR pile & the checkbook!! I also have a huge Blaze backlog that I never seem to make much progress on!! I won't say how far they date back, only 2007 but there they are waiting for me!!
Thanks for stopping by to comment on my reads. I love it when my review makes people want to read a book! Thanks for the compliment.
Take care, happy reading,
