The Story Behind the Story... Made for Each Other with Irene Brand

In my June Love Inspired romance, MADE FOR EACH OTHER, Aimee Blake is suddenly confronted with a daughter, Samantha, who seems to change overnight from a biddable, lovely child to a rebellious teenager, eager to cut the apron strings. When she decides to give her daughter some space, Aimee
becomes acquainted with Jacob Mallory, a personable young man, who has never married and doesn’t want any life outside of his counseling work. When Aimee and Jacob become emotionally involved, Aimee is faced with another problem.
Is she being fair to give Samantha a stepfather? Love eventually provides the way for Aimee to find her own happiness without severing the close tie she enjoys with her daughter.

Today, I received a letter about this book which validated my urge to write the story. The woman who wrote has two teenage sons in her home at the time, and she could identify with the struggles of the heroine in my book. She also has a foster son, and his sister, living with her, which would seem a difficult situation, but she wrote, “I know God will provide what I need for He always has.” It’s always interesting to me when readers find something in my books to uplift them
spiritually or ease the emotional load they bear.

I count among my friends a large number of young adults with small children, and I work as well with many teenagers in our church family. Although I’m not a mother; vicariously, I understand teens through what I observe in these young friends. One single mother, now 30, has a daughter, who has recently been diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. Our church congregation has suffered with the two of them and their families as they’ve adopted new
lifestyles to meet the crisis of this eight-year-old child. I pray that the traumatic experience of my current heroine will bring encouragement to all those who read the book.
