A Stranger's Touch is the second book in Cait London's Psychic Sisters Trilogy. After having read At The Edge the first book, and learning about Tempest and her ability to touch things and pick up their history, and the emotions of people who have held the items previously I was quite anxious to read her story.
Temptest is suffering guilt about several things that have affected her family. She feels that in order to redeem herself she must find an ancient brooch that both her mother and her sister Leona have begun to dream about. The family is confident that in some way that brooch is tied to both their past and their future.
How far will Tempest go to get the brooch, and will it put her at a bigger personal risk than she has previously faced?
Marcus Greystone now owns the brooch, and he promises it to Temptest in exchange for answers to the mysterious death of his parents. However, will what Tempest uncover be what Marcus truly wanted to know?
I enjoyed A Strangers Touch until the last few pages. At which point a family powow hints at what might be in the upcoming book. I was like WHAT? Just how far am I supposed to suspend my beliefs to continue to believe in paranormal activity? Also why must every author think they need to follow the paranormal path...where are all the readers who love just straight suspense?

Sandi, you make a really
Sandi, you make a really good point and one that I have been thinking about too, although a bit differently. I love paranormal but I am getting really bored seeing everyone jump on the paranormal bandwagon just to sell books. (I've always had a contrarian streak). I like variety and nothing bored me more than looking through a magazine of book ads and seeing how much it's al lparanormal. I feel glutted, oversaturatred so that they all appear the same so I am more apt to go in another direction. Variety intrigues me.
I don't read a ton of contemporary romance. In the interest of saving money and not being too overwhelmed by my TBR, I too often contemplate whether or not I should cancel my HQN/MIRA subscription and I just never can. Your blogs are a part of that decision not to do so. Also, I feel like I NEED that subscription just to have something different and refreshing to explore. It's like some of the things I see that kids do to rebel...and find it so boring because kids my age were dressing the same way. Then it was interesting, today it is boring and too much the norm.

on the flipside...
Keep in mind that I'm not the only one who defected from romances as a teen because, well, horror, scifi, and fantasy offered something far more interesting. There is just SO much contemporary out there as well that it's nice to see a glut of the paranormal variety so that folks like me actually have some choices! Besides, Sandi, we're planning to convert you to the dark side of romances....
