Twas the night ( okay, more like the week) before Christmas and all through Pine Cove, California people are getting into the holiday spirit. Well, not everyone is feeling the joy of the season...
Little Joshua Barker is in desperate need of a holiday miracle. No, he's not on his deathbed or anything. But Josh is pretty sure he saw Santa get whacked by a shovel. Now he has one little prayer: Please Santa, come back from the dead. Little does he know there is an angel nearby who's come to Earth seeking a child to grant his wish. Unfortunately for Josh this angel is not the brightest in the bunch and so what follows are a few mistakes that send this town into Christmas chaos.
Now for my take, while I enjoyed the weird humour of this satirical tale some of the language was a little over the top. It was pretty strange and maybe men might enjoy this more. My friend at the UBS store says this author is his very favorite. I'll have to give this author another try maybe something without a religious theme. If anyone else has read this author maybe you can tell me how you feel about his writing. I have, " You Suck", by him so will listen to it in the near future.

I've read
Lamb by him. I thought it was a riot. Of course, I hang out with a bunch of crude guys so I am pretty used to the language and the overall smart-a$$ attitude. And it has a heavily plotted religious theme. My nephew has read both bloodsucking fiends and you suck and loved them both. I plan on reading them before the year is over.
Oh good I'll look
Oh good I'll look forward to, You Suck. I felt a bit guilty for liking this one. Bad language doesn't bother me at all in other books I read, like the In Death books.

I've heard so much about
I've heard so much about his books over the past few years. I guess since Lamb came out actually was the first time I ever heard of him. That's the one subtitled "according to Jesus'' best Friend Biff" or something like that right?
I've not yet tried anythign by Moore but I've debated trying him out.

You're welcome to
this one if you want to listen to it. This one is only five disks so not that long. I did read something about Bif when I debated buying the audio at Borders but decided I'd try the UBS stores for awhile don't want to pay full price.

I know...
lots of people who rave about this author. I think I finally put one of his books in my stack to read one day. It does sound like he's a bit over the top on some of his humor, though.
