Sucker Bet by Erin McCarthy is the 4th book in her Vegas Vampires series.  I am a big Erin McCarthy fan and have read all her other books.  I am not really into Vampire stories, but I always enjoy Erin's books.  The story is about Gwenna Carrick, Ethan's sister and Roberto's ex-wife.  She is a vampire.   Nate is human and a detective in Las Vegas.  They solve a mystery together.   Very sensual and funny too.  My rating 8/10

I've enjoyed the other books in this series but haven't read this one yet.  Funny, as I haven't liked the contemporary stuff of hers as much as the vampire ones!  Isn't that neat how an author can appeal across genres to different people?

Yes, I completely agree,  I will read any book by Erin, no matter what style or genre and I know I will like it.  Kathy Love is another author that crosses styles and I also enjoy.  For me,  it has always been more about the author than the subject matter or plot.  Once I find an author I like, I will anything they have written. 

 And, if you have read the first three books in this series, you have to read this one.
