I chose to read this book because I found the blurb interesting and the title made me curious regarding teh content of the book. When legendary bad boy and athlete, Jesse Chapman comes back to town, Kate Bloom's ordered world is turned upside down. She is reminded of all the reasons she harboured a Texas sized crush back when they were kids. But she isn't a little girl anymore....and she's ready to show this hell-raising playboy just how sexy she can be.
After a reporter starts digging in his past, Jesse Chapman returns home looking for space. The last thing he needs is a distraction, but that's just what he gets when he sees his little Katie. Suddenly the girl next door is hot and sexy - and more than even this legendery ladies man can handle.
I enjoyed reading this story alot. The email exchange between Julia, Chloe and Kate shown at the beginning of each chapter is very eblightening and very amusing sometimes. The interaction between the 3 friends reminded me of the relationship I have with my best friends. I laughed along with them with their successes and cried along with their disappointments. It was very funny and it gave us an insight into the personalities of the Kate's friends who have their own stories.
Jesse Chapman was a very confused and difficult man to understand. He had been through alot of sorrow and hardship in his life. It was heart-rending to see Jesse's torment through the story and the difficult relationship he shared with his older brother, Derek. Kate is the only one who sees into the person Jesse really is.
Whithin a few days of arriving in his hometown, Jesse is confronted with his past that literally pulled the rug from under his feet. How he dealt with this piece of his past was very heart-renching.
Kate was a news anchor who was trying out interviewing various people from verious life-styles. She was trying to find her niche in the television world and she was finding it hard. The experiences she went through were really funny and made me laugh out loud.
Kate and Jesse had a very close friendship as they used to share each other's sorrows and happiness. Kate loved Jesse since she could understand what love was but Jesse was afraid of his feelings so he left when Kate was very young.
I hope to read the next 2 books in this trio of books which portrays the stories of all 3 women and the love they discover in unexpected places. A glimpse was shown of the next book where one of the girls has a hot encounter with a stranger.
