Rosa Capoletti was not only the youngest, but the only daughter of a close knit family.  She never had to doubt that her parents and siblings loved her, but when tragedy struck the males in her household reacted in what is probably typical male and never really dealt with the emotions of a suddenly motherless young girl.

Rosa knowing without a doubt that she could no longer go forward with her plans for college, and leave her grief stricken father home alone to cope.  Instead she digs her heels in and works hard to take a somewhat run down piza restaurant into a high class famous restaurant.

Alex Montgomery was the very spoiled son of a family that summered by the sea.  He was also a child suffering from a variety of illnesses amongst them asthma that he never does outgrow.

When he returns to the vacation home of his youth he's not sure what it is that he hopes to find.  What he does find is Rosa, and the love that he thought was long gone.

It's been awhile since I read this book, and I didn't get it blogged right away.  For that I'm now apologizing because I truly enjoyed this book, and had a hard time putting it aside.

There are few authors whose books don't linger in my TBR and Susan Wiggs is fast becoming one of those whose books aren't going to sit and wait, and those that have waited as this one did are going to need to be dug out ASAP!
