Today it snowed and snowed. Now I know that it is winter, but here in Vancouver, BC we don't get a lot of snow, therefore are roads tend to be a mess and our driving isn't much better. It was a good day to stay home. I finished off a book and then spent the rest of the day attacking my bedroom. It needed a major cleaning and I just purchased a new duvet set. It's now 6:30 in the evening and I'm almost done... 3/4 of the room! The 1/4 will have to wait until next weekend. It's my dresser and closet - I think I'll need another 8 hours! It took longer than I expected because I forgot that I would need to iron out the folding wrinkles on the duvet and bed skirt. Then, of course, the cats were curious and had to help (they don't see me clean that often obviously). I got rid of them in a hurry when I dragged out the vacuum cleaner. Finally peace to get the work done.
But I must say it looks good. I've been looking for years for a new duvet and just couldn't find what I wanted. Or if I did find it the material was wrong for the cats - that silky material would shred in a instant as soon as they walk on it. So that's one project almost finished. I'm quite proud of myself. This reading slump is good because I bought 5 new books yesterday and didn't touch them today at all. 3 months ago I would have been in my chair reading all day!
Now, unfortunately the snow has stopped so I'll have to go to work tomorrow. Another snowday would have been useful and my bedroom would be done. Oh, well...<sigh>
