I hope everyone who celebrated the Fourth enjoyed themselves! My eldest brought home her new guy, and he was delightful! We partied for three days, including three killer games at bowling. I broke 100 on a game, which never happens! LOL
We took him to Waldemeer, for a drive on the bayfront, for blue moon ice cream (although, the paper just reported that they're closing my blue moon ice cream store...sigh) and to the zoo!
Last night was their last night here, and we took him down to the peninsula after supper for the sunset. This is why I adore Erie. Look how beautiful it was! There was an international ranking of sunsets once, and Erie was number two. I don't remember who got number one, but I'd hold mine against theirs anyday!
He left promising to come back and saying how much he enjoyed Erie (and us! <g>)! Can't wait until they both come back. I miss my daughter already!!

Seagulls
Now, I know some people consider seagulls flying rats, but I've always adored them. When the weather's rough, they'll fly inland and I'll hear their cries in my house. I know we're in for a big storm then. We've vacationed in Southampton, Ontario and there's nothing better than rolling out of bed, grabbing a cup of coffee, a few slices of bread and feeding the gulls as the sun comes up!!

great pictures
These are a series of great pictures. I don't think anyone can resist a sunset or a sunrise. This is such a beautiful world we live in. I'm not the photographer in my family but we must have 100's of shots of surises and sunsets. We live in Calgary so mountains are often in the shots. However we also lived in Thunder Bay and Kingston Ontario so have some over the great lakes as well. One of our best memories is sitting on a beach in Maui with my parents and counting the sun down.
PS I ordered your new book and am looking forward to reading it.

And you're right, we do live in a beautiful world! I think sometimes we all get so busy that we forget to stop and notice.

I love sunset/sunrise. It's so peaceful, and relaxing. I don't see the sunrise much these days, but once school starts back, I will!

Will you see sunrises when school starts because you're getting kids ready, or because you teach and YOU'RE getting ready??
Either way, glad you enjoy them! One of my best sunrises ever was at Virginia beach. I got up early, the front desk people snuck my a coffee, and I'd stashed a few packs of crackers from the night before. I headed up to drink my coffee, feed the gulls and watch the sunrise, when a pod of dolphin came in close to feed. I must of walked a mile or two down the beach watching them move closer and farther away as they fed. The seagulls loved the crackers. It was a beautiful sunrise. If only every day could start the nicely!!
