What are you doing Sunday, watching the Super Bowl or writing, or reading? I love the commercials and football, but I also want to get back to writing more. I figure I can type during the game and watch the replays and commercials for the important parts!

Superbowl
I am a big sports fan, so I will be watching the game and the commercials too. Don't really like either team, but I will root for the Giants, as the Patriots are my most disliked team. I'm a St.Louis Rams fan.
Tammy
I don't like football
And lucky for me hubby is more of a basketball kind of guy. If the weather is good then we plan on going to a nearby state park and hiking. If it's freezing cold or raining I will stay home and read/clean house.
Write a Football story
Hi Betty:
Why not write a football short story or contest entry while you are watching the game? It sure could get you into the mood. I may even do that. I want NY. I grew up liking them and have never changed.
Thanks,
Vince

Go Giants!
Have to confess, I am the big football fan at our house-when we were in Germany I used to be up in the wee hours watching the games on AFN . Actually am a Pittsburgh Steelers fan who is married to a diehard Cleveland Browns'fan-despite it,our marriage has lasted over 21 years.
This year we will be at Dad's house celebrating his 79th bd & his & my stepmom's anniversary, but I know the game will be on.
Enjoy the game, your reading or writing tomorrow evening,Cheryl

love the answers!
Yenastone - I like the Rams. I live in Ohio and not too far from Cincinnati. I love the high school football games and the Ohio State/Michigan games, but have not decided who I am backing in the Superbowl.
jillyan77 - I hope you get to hike. This time of year is great because you can see things you can't when the foilage is on.
Vince - I like the idea, and there is the big finish 2 contest. But you do not see many sports stars as hero's. I was surprised when they came out with the NASCAR books. I am reading one now, and it is pretty good. I once read sports stars, and politicians are no-no's.
Cheryl - I grew up over on the eastern side of the state, and my nephews were all crazy abount "Mean Joe Greene" and always wanted to meet him. Another nephew is crazy about the browns (I still have my dawg pound ID tag from the old team) and my dd is a bengals fan. We have some pretty interesting convestations when we all visit!
I am on lunch break and need to get back to taxes! Don't eat too much tomorrow!
Super Bowl
Football isn't my thing. I prefer to watch hockey and baseball. I'll be reading and writing.

I watch it for the commercials…
I will probably read during the game and look up for the commercials. Some are so absurdly funny. I don't follow football, but a guy I know says 85% of the time one conference wins the stock market goes up. Only I can't remember which conference he said.
I prefer the World Series and last fall wrote it into a scene in my current MS. It fit so perfectly.
Baseball/World Series
Lynn & CrissieSue - I love baseball also. I think the ground hog saw his shadow so we have to wait 6 more weeks for baseball!
Writing marathon.
I'm a Steelers fan. Kind of hope the Giants win but not interested enough to watch. (I'll probably have to check the score once in a while.)

Giants
Angel - So far it looks like the Giants have the most support from the posts here. It will be interesting to see who wins.
I have a friend who has long hair. She braided it wet, trying to get it to look like Paulamialiu (sp)! LOL! She is also a die hard Steelers fan.
I'll be Reading
I'm a Bears fan, and I definitely want the Giants to beat the Patriots, but... I didn't even know who the Patriots were playing until reading this thread... I'm certainly not going to be watching it. I might turn it on a couple minutes here and there to update (or catch a commercial.)
Jo
Hate football...
But if I had to choose a team, I'm a Cowboys fan - it's required in my family - so I hate the Giants. And I hate the Patriots, period, so I'm not exacty rooting for either team, but I'd like to see the Patriots lose.
So I'd go for the writing marathon, or maybe just a reading one. =P In the same room as the game, so I can see the commercials, of course. =D
Happy reading,
~Kristen
If life gives you lemons, give them to a lemonade stand and read!
My plans have changed
A head cold has taken out the plans of hiking for the day. So instead I am going to watch The Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet and read. Not a bad way to spend the day. Though I would rather be hiking. It's warm enough today that it would even be enjoyable!

I'm not much of a football fan. I have it on in the background but I'll be reading and browsing the net

LOL!
MaryJane, that's what I was going to blog about!!! The game is on upstairs in my bedroom, and DH is up there watching. I'm here on the computer and I'm planning on writing. I like the commercials but that's it. That makes my mom nuts -- she's a big Giants fan.
And I've only read a few romances that have sports figures as heroes (one blaze comes to mind, and the Nascar stuff, and one or two others) and even fewer political ones. I don't know...if the story was great, woudn't they pick it up regardless?

Puppy Bowl
Hey Jillyan,
I watched the Puppy Bowl too. It was so cute. We all loved it. I have been watching the game in our bedroom, but the Giants have not scored while I've been in the room, so I walked out at 3rd and 10 with under 2 minutes left, and will hope they score while I am down here in the den
Tammy
Tammy
It worked
I stayed down here, The Giants did score and the won the game!!!!! Now the Patriots will know how it feels to lose by 3 points! Like the Rams , Panthers and Eagles did in their previous wins.
Tammy
What a game!
What a game. The 4th quarter was exciting. My 13 yr old DD was pointing out the hot guys! LOL!!
Jodie - I read somewhere that politicians were a no no because you do not want to polarize readers of main parties. I think it would work if the fictional town had a system like Cincinnati and the Charterites. I think you would have 2 invent 2 parts of opposing views like saving an old building or something that is important only to the characters and would not hit a hot button for the reader.
I got lots of reading and writing done today. I hope everyone else did. Hugs on being sick. I bet the puppy bowl was great.
Thanks everyone for stopping and chatting! It was like having our own party!
Yay,Giants!!!
Got to watch some of the game while enjoying cake & ice cream at Dad's to celebrate his bd,plus having a good visit with 2 dds,1sil & 1 future sil. Then came home & watched some & dozed but saw the most important ending.
Coach Bill really showed his true colors by walking off the field before the game ended. Oh well,is over,Giants won & now I need to do dishes, read some then call it a nite. Yes,this has been fun hearing how so many spent their time. Cheryl

Watched and Wrote
Watched some of the game. Listened to more of it. Mostly ignored it except when it seemed like something exciting was happening.
Picked up a notebook and broke my writing drought. Seven pages. Yaaay!

Readin' N Writin' with Patricia
Congratulations Patricia!
Congratulations on getting some writing done! I wrote some during the game, and got to see several commercials.
My morning
was spent doing the usual chores....and some reading.
In the afternoon, I walked down to my cousins house for the game and some food.
Now, I dont care a thing about football....but I had fun with the food and socializing with the other non football fans.
Terri
Got Books?
Love, love, love football!!!
YEAH, GIANTS!!! YEAH, ELI MANNING!!!!!
Ronda
Celebrating
Terri - I agree, I love the food and socializing and because folks are so busy anymore, I think that is why the super bowl is so popular. It's more of a social thing.
Ronda - Yes, Eli is a hottie. There used to be an old rock song that started out something like ...Eli's a coming...
