Sweet Love is the newest release coming from Sarah Strohmeyer. I had a review copy, and was really looking forward to it.
Ms. Strohmeyer wrote the popular Bubbles msytery series, and then has moved on to chicklit. I highly recommend her book The Cinderella Pact, and wish I could as highly recommend Sweet Love.
To me Sweet Love is the story of true love derailed by many outside forces. When Julie Mueller, and Michael Slayton again cross paths it seems that it's still not their time for love, but is it?
There are moments in Sweet Love that are probably hanky worthy, but only if you can fully relate to the characters, and for me the characters just didn't click.
I really don't like saying I didn't like this book because it might be a good book, but I read it right after I read another book that I loved, and perhaps nothing would satisfy me after reading one that might have been a keeper if I were a keeper. Does that make sense?

You have a great point
I have done the same thing and have wondered at times...why can't I like this book? Maybe the timing is off...maybe I wouldn't still be able to connect to the characters even if it weren't following a book I'd loved so much...who knows. But you do make a great point.

Imagination... the magical whispers from within.
oh, that's too bad
I'm so sorry it didn't work for you but thank you for being so kind and coming up with a very polite explanation
To make it up to you, I'll be happy to send a copy of THE SLEEPING BEAUTY PROPOSAL which came out between Cinderella and Sweet Love....Just write me at writesarah@aol.com
In the meantime, if it really was just timing and not the book (let's hope!) I've been there, too. I picked up The Shopaholic three times before I got into it and then, when I got into it, I read them all one after the other....
Thanks - Sarah

Please look for my newest book - SWEET LOVE - June 19, 2008
So sorry Sarah
I totally forgot to mention that I read The Sleeping Beauty Proposal and enjoyed it as well. I'm sure it's hard to write a book and to please all the readers, but the bringing two beloved fairy tales into the modern world, and not making a mockery of them is a true talent. I hope we get another book like The Sleeping Beauty Proposal and The Cinderalla Pact soon.
