Sweetheart Lost and Found (The Wedding Planners) by Shirley Jump (Harlequin Romance, April 2008)

Wonderful second chance romance and first in a 6 book continuity series ---The Wedding Planners

Mr. Straight-and-Narrow and Ms. Wild-and-Crazy don't what hit them but we romance readers know...

Callie Phillips might work as the florist for the Wedding Belles wedding planners, but when it comes to love and romance, her broken heart has made her a cynic when it comes to love. When the wedding planners strike up a bet that all 6 woen will get their own happily ever after, Callie knows that without a doubt, she wil lbe the one to smash their dreams.

Jared Townsend believes in statistics. Whatever can be measured and quantified is real. Sitting in a bar with his trusty clipboard, Jared plans to bring science to bear on the question of love. Anything has to be better than watching his true love walk off with Tony. When suddenly Callie walks into the bar and his life to deliver wedding invitations to the bar owner, Jared knows he cannot let Callie walk away this time. Jared loved Callie many years ago and he knows her better than anyone. Something has changed in her. Can Mr. Straight-and-Narrow see beneath her cynicism and pain and break down the walls around her heart?

Shirley Jump does an excellent job introducing the new continuity series THe Wedding Planners. The reader gets a glimpse at the 6 heroines readers will meet in future books but never at the expense of Callie and Jared's story. The friendship between the women adds a nice dimension to this romance and the character of Belle, the owner of THe Wedding Belles...well she is just priceless! I guess the hero might be a bit of a nerd, but a sexy, smart and caring one. I found this hero quite refreshing. I liove the way Shirley Jump captured the hero and heroine in their younger days and how life had changed them. It made their story both believable and quite moving. The humor here is fantastic too.

A personal note:

Liz Fielding's April Romance heroine is and event planner and shirley Jump starts off a series this April about Wedding Planners. I read these two books almost back to back and just wanted to comment that these two books are very different and each one a wonderful read. If by any chance you are thinking about buying one and not the other in the belief that they are similar, my one word of advice would be DON'T! You'll be sorry to miss either one. Actually, they read very nicely together in quick sucession. Read together, I think these two books say a whole lot about what I really like in the Harlequin Romance line.

While I am at it, I might as well just say that I have read 5 out of 6 of the April HR books and for me, April is one bumper month when it comes to great reads in the Harlequin Romance line!

The April month in HR has been a terrific month! This is an imprint that I haven't been reading a real long time, but I have been loving it!
