Talk to the Hand (subtitle, The Utter Bloody Rudeness of the World Today, or Six Good Reasons to Stay Home and Bolt the Door)

My daughter gave me this book when seeing me off on a twenty hour train trip, so, warm from her thoughtfulness, I was predisposed to like it. The author repeats herself at times and perhaps goes overboard on occasion, but I enjoyed its chatty, girlfriend style. It was full of examples of rudeness that made me say, “Oh, yes, exactly!” over and over again. Along with that, is a discussion of whether and why manners matter and what's behind their degradation.
