To Tame a Wolf by Susan Krinard

To Tame a Wolf is the fifth in Susan Krinard's werewolf series set in the late 1800's.  This story is about Simeon Kavanaugh whom we met in the second book Once a Wolf.  His character in Once a Wolf was altogether savory.  He wasn't exactly the bad guy, but he had a really bad attitude toward women and really disliked Lady Rowena.  This story takes place after he has left Tomas and Rowena and is heading out on his own.  Esperanza who was also a character in Once a Wolf has gone on her own as well to discover what her purpose in life might be.  Sim believe that only Esperanza can save him and cleanse his soul.  He hooks back up with a man from his past, Caleb, who is most definitely not a nice guy.  Sim meets Chantal "Tally" Bernard when she is pretending to be her brother's younger brother "Tal" Bernard.  Tally is searching for her brother who was to have been on a cattle purchasing trip.  Sim offers to help track Andre when they discover that he has purchased mining equipment and headed for the mountains.  They find an injured Andre and take him back to Cold Creek ranch where Sim starts working as a hand.  Though Sim believes that he and Esperanza belong together he can't help but be attracted to Tally since he's known from the begining that she was not a man.  Both Sim and Tally have many secrets and there are many secrets going on at Cold Creek ranch.  Can the love they feel for each other save them both?

This is a nice ending to the series of books.  Obviously, none of these books required a reader to read the others.  I always like to know about other characters that come up especially if they are in the past.  I liked this one because Sim was such an interesting character and I knew he had been seriously hurt and wanted to see if the love of a good woman could save him.  Good story and series.

Collecting

Lorie - I really enjoyed it.  I'm sure you will too.

Jayne - I had already been eyeing this series!  Even though my New Year resolution is to stop spending so much on new books and concentrating on my TBR shelves.  I'm doing OK on that.  I'll check out the link.  Thanks.
