Paranormal romance with a vampire hero and a werecat heroine. He's the "Guardian of the Blood" and it's his job to execute/kill any Mackenzie clan vampire who is going to soil the bloodlines by marrying a werecreature or demon/shape-shifter. He comes to the Woo Woo Inn to kill the bridegroom but instead he falls in lust with the sister of the bride (both women are werecats). He hesitates now about killing the bridegroom. He keeps his identity a secret. She's very eager to have sex with him because she's a 28 yr old virgin: her clan has a rule of its own, that females can only mate with a stronger male. Since the heroine is a frigging saber tooth tiger in her werecat form, she's the most powerful werecat and likely will live her 900 year lifetime without meeting a stronger mate. Lucky for her, the hero is stronger than her and she won't need to die a virgin.
This is a great story: Nina Bangs is a hilarious author, she builds a great story with tons of deep and sympathetic characters. The hero was yummy. Loved that the heroine was a powerful being! One of my favourite moments in the story was this: the heroine wrote a very nasty email to the council in charge of the "Guardian of the Blood" decisions, calling them "dickless wonders"... in battle, Sparkle Stardust makes this reality, unmanning all the male opponents. Laugh out loud funny.
Rating: 5/5 stars, totally funny and a sexy read.
