Sophia is a young girl who is made fun of by classmates for her different culture. She decides to get even by being the best that she can be. Then Sophia gets a scholarship to attend a private school. Her family has misgivings but Sophia wants to go.
However, Sophia's parents demands that she learn some lessons before she leaves, such as the importance of family and being a good camadre. And after Sophia is at that school if she ever feels home sick all she has to do is swallow the tequila worm and it will remind her of home.
