Tex Appeal, an anthology February 2008

Tex Appeal has three fun Valentine stories based on a contest by a corporate newspaper group in Texas.  Three cities are involved in the contest vying for a prize in each city & increased circulation for the paper.

The idea of the contest is the idea of two people working together on the paper that are trying to keep a professional relationship and not give into the attraction that keeps getting stronger.  This is the prologue to the three stories.

Real Good Man by Kimberly Raye  This story is about Cheryl wanting to change her boring, safe life.  She quit her job as a nail technician, moved out of her parents home, took lessons to become a carnal coach and kicked her long time boyfriend out of her life.  Her romance with Dayne had become so boring she practicaly feel asleep during their intimate moments!  This was a fun story about a woman that shakes up her life big time to find out that a long time romance can be brought back to life. 

Unbroken by Alison Kent   Dr. Tess Autrey is going to write an article on "buckle bunnies" for the column Sex in the Saddle.  The article is being tied into a contest the paper is running.  Tess is headed to the Triple RC Ranch to talk to former rodeo cowboys and get the real story on those women that follow these men from town to town.  Tess is in for a very pleasant surprise when she meets Wyatt Crowe, formerly the Lawman and owner of the RC, one of the biggest & best rodeo cowboys now retired.  She learns more than she needs for her article.  Can Wyatt and the doctor learn to love?

I Can Still Feel You by Cara Summers   Texas Ranger, Cade Dillon, just disappeared from Macy Chandler's life after she identifies a criminal in a string of bank robberies.  Their intense connection apparently meant less to him than it did her.  Cade has never gotten involved with a witness before or any woman with such a strong connection.  When the bank robber that Macy can identify posts bail to get out of jail Cade uses his job as an excuse to end his romance with Macy.  Cade is forced to protect Macy when the bank robber comes back to town putting her life in danger.  Macy is in the middle of doing some cooking demonstrations on the News At Noon to promote the contest running in the column Sex in the Saddle.  This paper is featuring meals from Macy as it's prize.  Can the Ranger & the chef find a way to make it work?

The epilogue will let you know how the contest effects the lives of the two that brought this idea of the Valentine Day promotion into being.  Will one of them win the bet or maybe it will be both!

All three stories easy, fun reading.  They are short stories well done.
