Back Blurb:
He was the rich rancher next door who swept her off her feet, then destroyed her. She could never forgive him. But being near Wade Parker again has Stephanie Calloway rethinking her decision to hold on to the past, because Wade is proving a temptation impossible to resist.
Wade is determined to have what he lost... at least once more. But first there were secrets to be revealed, conditions to be met and retribution to be made. Only then could the forbidden become the ultimate love affair.
My Review:
This book was good overall. I think I may have had a few issues wth the h. She seemed to have some hang-ups, and tended to say some things without really thinking about it first. However, I sincerely loved the H!! I really like the premise of A Piece of Texas, with a group of 6 Vietnam guys being the foundation of the land ownership. My grandpa was a Vietnam vet, and it is nice to see the men themselves being understood, even though the war itself was not. I am looking forward to the next installment of the series!
My Rating: 3.5

where in series
This is the first book in the series.
Technically all 6 books can be linked because the words that are the same are The Texan's and Peggy Moreland

Hey Tammy...

Ya know...
...you'd think that after having amassed a smallish, but growing, collection of ebooks that I'd maybe ~ just maybe? ~ think about getting series books in a format other than paper... but my mind is stuck in a vacuum I think... nothing gets in and even less works!

Hey Kalyko!
Hey Kathy!
Lol, Kathy!! I am sure you will see the light of series ebooks very, very soon!!
And if you don't, I am sure it has nothing o do with your brain, which seems to be quite sound.
If I remember correctly, you don't yet have an ebook reader, and you read on your PC. That would be difficult for me, to sit up and stare at a screen, except for shorter stories, etc. So, I completely understand not wanting to get too many books in that format. Have you thought about getting a reader lately?

Tammy

Speaking of vacuum....
Uh no... never even occurred to me. Although my DH has a laptop for work and he says that he could download the books onto a... um, little thing and then I could use the laptop.
Gads, speaking of nothing working. *sigh*

Hey Kalyko!
Hey Kalyko!
So are you going to try reading on your dh's laptop? Sorry, I know I am such a pest about ebooks.....pushy, pushy, pushy.
I keep bugging my local library to start an ebook loaning program. They already have audiobooks set up that way, why not ebooks?? They do it in several major cities already. Wishful thinking??

Tammy

LOL... Long and Loud!
Tammy... you can be as pushy as you'd like... and while Joe has offered, I've not yet taken advantage of his offer. One day I'll probably investigate a reader, or some other such device, but for now the 'puter works. 'Sides when I'm reading a really, really good book it doesn't matter much where I am... everything pretty much gets lost in the background.
Christa Yep... but she's the one that's got me turned onto so many new books and authors... works for me!

Hey Kalyko and Christa!
Hey Kalyko!!
Why, thank you!!
Heehee, I know what you mean, doesn't matter where you are when you get lost in a book. Only thing is, I have to pull me head out of the book on occasion to be sure all heck hasn't broken loose in the house, lol.
And, you have turned me on to more authors than I can count!! I think one that comes to mind that was most out of my comfort zone, but an instant addictive, gotta have her next book as soon as it's released author, was Keri Arthur. (Run-on sentence???
) I think we get a book of hers in April?? Woohoo!!!
Hey Christa!
I am really pushy, aren't I??
But at least you are able to read all those Spice Briefs now, right?? And you have turned me onto new authors too!! And I think I bought more Desires last year than I ever had from all your reviews.
Take Care!
