This is book five in the A Piece of Texas series. The main character, Jase is the son of Fast Eddie, one of the soldiers given a deed to a piece of Texas property upon shipping out to fight for their country, only this son was adopted and raised by a loving family while Eddie living just three hours away never knew of his existence.
Jase knew he was adopted and considered is adoptive parents as his only parents, it isn’t until his lady leaves his home to take a job in another city that he discovers he needs more than work, he needs the family connection and that might just come by meeting his biological father.
Mandy spent her young life idolizing her brother’s best friend, when she returns to their hometown after her divorce and begins working with Jase again, she finds herself hopelessly in love, but can she stay in San Saba without knowing how Jase feels for her?
These two characters were easy to believe, they were comfortable with each other and tolerant of each others issues. No wonder why their friendship had withstood time and distance.
