Their Special Care Baby by Fiona McArthur

The story opens with a train wreck. Dr. Stewart Kramer is meeting the train to pick up Desiree, his sister in law, who pregnant and Sophie, his niece. He has not met either of them. After the wreck he enters the train car to help with with the injured as well as look for Desiree and Sophie.

At the same time a young woman becomes conscious and finds herself trapped by her arm which is bleeding from an artery. She can hear a baby crying. She manages to get her arm free and slow the bleeding then crawls through the damage to reach the baby and a small leather backpack for the baby. She then crawls the length of the car carrying the baby. Stewart reaches her and frees her from the wreckage. He thinks this is Desiree and Sophie (that is not the only reason he helps as he has been helping with others.) The woman is pregnant and goes into premature labor and gives birth eleven weeks early (this is a major part of the story line.) She had lost conciousness as she is freed from the wreck and now remembers nothing, not even who she is. Stewart believes she is Desiree as she fits the description he has of her and no one else found in the wreckage seems to fit. As she recovers she begins to feel something is wrong and that she is not Desiree. She insists that Stewart investigate the possibility she is someone else.

This book is a good read as well as informative.
