This was great and the insights into neonatal care were eye opening. The author talks about how this one is special to her as her granddaughter weighed just over a pound when she was born and is now a healthy two year old. I must pass this to my friend who had a premie grandbaby.
Dr. Stewart Kramer is waiting for his sister-in-law and niece to arrive on the train. His brother is dead so they're coming to live with him and his ailing mother. As the train pulls in there is a crash and Stewart rushes to offer medical help.
The woman doesn't know her name but she has to get the baby to safety. Crawling across the wreckage and out she collapses in the stranger's arms, her final words before losing consciousness are a plea to save her baby. She's the right age and she's pregnant so Stewart knows she is his brother's widow. He soon has strong feelings for this courageous woman.
This is an awesome story! I snuck a few pages in every chance I got today until I finished it. Rating: Excellent

thanks!
I think this one is in my Medical stack. Can't wait to read it. I think you pinpointed something I like about the Medicals. I am not into baby romances normally but somehow I don't feel that way about the medicals. I think it is the neo-natal context that changes it for me. Even if the baby part isn't exactly medical in one or two of the medicals, there is just a different context.

It was very interesting and described some of the machines and the things they did to help the premies along. Very educational with a good story too.
