James Patterson edits this collection with some of the top names in the business of writing thrilling tales....
I don't really know how to review this one. I listened to it on audio after having a lot of trouble getting into my print version. There were a couple great stories in it, a lot of stories involving spies, and then some stories that simply bored me to tears. I'm still relatively new to listening to audios but this one took me longer than any other audio I've listened to, partially because it just didn't hold my attention consistently. The print version will remain in my keepers though, since it has a few gems in it, such as the stories by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, Heather Graham, and Alex Kava. I think I'm going to give Alex Kava's books another chance, too. I wasn't all that thrilled with the one I read but the story in this anthology was pretty good. So... overall, I'm just glad to be done with this one so I can move onto something else. By the way, if you really like spy stories, this one is probably for you as it had a TON of spy stories in it!

I have this one on my shelves. I like the idea of a collection esp. for night reading. I probably would have read this right when I got it if I didn't feel like I had to try to blog it. I can't imagine being able to give each author recognition in a review.

I really liked the ones you mentioned but there were a couple I fast forwarded through they were so bad. There was one highway robber story that I really disliked. Kelley didn't even remember it. I felt the same way when I was through and wouldn't want to read it again or anything similar.

Merri and Deb...
Merri, you'll probably enjoy the spy stories.... I'm not doing a formal review on this one because I can't figure out how and because it was just not good enough for me to want to figure it out.
Deb, I don't remember a highway robbery story either. But I did listen to this one for over a month because it was just so slow. I seriously thought about fast forwarding.... There was one that I actually listened to a second time because it wasn't till I got to the end that I realized I'd already listened to it.
