Today's Rambling

I have caught up with my January reads and now have 6 pending for February. I like the first mini challenge - One Leads to Another. I had 4 books read before the announcement of the mini challenge so not all will follow suite, but I can link the last two with some creativeness. Actually I will use a some creative ways to link other reads too - not just the name and title connections.

1.      Taming Clint Westmoreland – Brenda Jackson (Silhouette Desire) Feb 08

2.      Sweeter Than Revenge – Ann Christopher (Kimani Romance) Jan 08

3.      The Secret – Shirley Hailstock (Dafina Books/Kensington) Apr 06  leads to Texas Bluff because it deals with secrets.

4.      Texas Bluff – Linda Warren (Harlequin Superromance) Feb 08 Leads to Dancing on Sunday Afternoon with Linda

5.      Dancing on Sunday Afternoon – Linda Cardillo (Harlequin Everlasting Love) leads to One Summer in Italy because of the Italian connection

6.      One Summer in Italy – Lucy Monroe (Harlequin Romance) leads to the anthology Summer in Savannah which I am currently reading.

Next in line is Dream Chaser with the Sheri Whitefeather/Sherrilyn Kenyon connection.  I wanted to read it after Dancing on Sunday Afternoon claiming a dream connection due to a quote on the back of the book. I decided to wait and found a closer connection. I could also use the title of one of the stories: Under the cover of the Night and you dream at night. I think the first name works better.

I bought a book this weekend - Dream Chaser. I couldn't pass it up. Kroger's had it for 40% off the retail price. I also made a trip to Paperback Ect and traded 7 books for 3 ended up with a $2.51 credit. I have never had a credit before.  I think that's milestone to celebrate. Money mouth

I also took the time to figure out how to add pictures and updated all the blogs that would allow me to do so. I think I like it. Cool

and that's all I have to ramble about today. Laughing

I really like your new avatar ......

the colours are eyecatching  ... great pic!

I noticed you were posting book covers .... I made a blog entry of book covers that might help with the spacing between the cover and your text type ..... you can find it here .... How I make my book covers

I like the way you're finding your connections .... sounds like you're having fun!

Thanks Katherine!   I

Thanks Katherine! Cool  I found that picture and loved it.

It's hard using only name and titles and I was feeling a little stifled. Finding a book after Dream Chaser is going ot be hard. What I need is a Samantha Hunter book to follow Dream Hunter. I'm looking through my stash to see if I have one. I have three Stephen King books that will work, but I'm not in the mood for one of his yet. I may try it anyway. I said last year I was going to read one and I didn't.

I'll take a look and see if I can find some pointers. I did kind of felt my way through the book covers.

Katherine - I read through

Katherine - I read through your tips and I didn't think about the direct linking from other sites. I have modified all my pics to link from photobucket. I had an account I just didn't want to go thru the extra steps. Embarassed

Photobucket

Star, I prefer to do everything through Photobucket ... I made a special folder for all the book covers I post, that way I remember not to delete them from Photobucket  ... when you direct link your image can disappear whenever the web site you've linked from takes it down

plus, I'm just not comfortable linking to a site other than eHarl or my own web space .... I'd hate to get eHarl in trouble because an image was "borrowed" without permission

glad you found the tips helpful!

I go through photobucket too

I thought I could save that extra set too, but the site I was getting 95% of my cover pictures from was having some problems when they changed servers so all the pictures disappeared. Then I had to scramble and find them elsewhere. Now I have two folders for book covers at photobucket. One is labelled "book covers"(and has the book  covers that I have used in the reviews) and another folder labelled "book covers- not used". This folder only has about 4-5 covers in it(these are covers of books that I am reading or reading soon.)
