Too Close to Home

This was a great read. It pulls you in from the first paragraph and keeps you enthralled until the last. Brooke Tyler is the entire police department in her small town. Brooke earned her position after showing an amazing aptitude for finding lost people. However, most citizens didn't know that Brooke was even better at helping people get lost.

Brooke helped her grandmother and Aunt run an underground network devoted to helping abused women escape their spouses. Then Brooke finds the body of a dead woman. That discovery leads her to a killing field full of dead bodies. Evidence found at the scene points to Brooke's sister Katie who had a rough childhood and a mental breakdown. Could Katie have killed all of those people? Is the secret Brooke carries about the underground to blame for all of these deaths?

And with all of the secrets Brooke is keeping it is no wonder she feels she can't be in a relationship with her Mr. Wonderful, Chad Robinson.

My only question is what took me so long to read this book?Wink
