Totally depressed

because I was away for about ten days and couldn't really post but I kept my blog doc updated, and when I opened it when I got home, all the posts had disappeared, obviously one of the battery shutdowns got rid of something without my noticing it

Thirty blog entries to be rewritten is not something that puts a smile on my face, especially since I get rid of the post-its once I've done the blog doc file

Why do life and computer problems only conspire against us when we don't have the time or energy to deal with them? Undecided

Oh No

I think you should just post all of them with a NFM and we will be grateful for the numbers. Unless there is one or two that really stand out.  I feel for you as I have a hard time even blogging one or two books but to lose 30 blogs is truly depressing but look on the bright side nobody died or got hurt and the sun is shining-maybe?

Love-Hate Relationship with Computer

I know, I have that love to hate relationship with the computer or modern techies.  I have lost quite a few docs (personal & work related).

If this makes you feel better, I (not too long ago) accidentally permanently erased my dh's business emails (all 400 of them, 6 months worth of correspondence) when I was trying to set up his email account on the laptop. Yell  I tested his patient & temper to the extreme that time.  He's a quiet person, he went even more quiet, I went bursack (is that the word?), Yell I almost had a heart attack.  He actually offered me comfort.  Embarassed

Well, maybe you can do new blog first, once a while go back to redo one of the lost ones, one at a time.  Meanwhile enjoy some new reading.

One word I can think of to sum that up...

...Sadhbh, is... DAMN!!!!!  It would definitely make me angry/dismayed to lose all of that info, too.

On the positive side, I've always found it inspiring that you read so many books and yet still write hearty reviews for each one.  I think you're a marvel - how's that?  (((Hugs))) are being sent your way today!

Quel domage!

C'est tres triste!Cry  Comme dites Jaques Brel, "Ne quite pas!"  I don't envy you replacing those blogs.  They really aren't easy to do, even one at a time!Frown  Bonne chance!  TrudyCool

My one word

I'll add one word, Noooooo. Frown

I work with computers and sometimes I do hate them. Thanks for everything you put into the Challenge. It stinks this happened to you.

Aw crappy!  That's a bad

Aw crappy!  That's a bad thing to lose Sadhbh.  When you read so many books in 10 days, that's a lot of books to keep straight and remember the plot of!

Hope it won't be too much of a hassle to reproduce...  and you can always do shorter reviews?

Oh no!

That sucks!

You read so many books and do such great reviews. Maybe instead of trying to reproduce them all just put the name, title and NFM in so that it adds to the count.

Pat

Hugs. I would be upset, too.

Hugs. I would be upset, too. I'm with others in saying post do enough to trip the counter, enter a NFM in the body, unless there was a standout and we will understand.

Nancy

Oh No Sadhbh, that's

Oh No Sadhbh, that's aweful! It's hard enough for you to keep up with the amount of books you read, but to lose the info that makes it a little easier for you is very dis-heartening i'm sure.

Why not just submit all the titles for the numbers, but skip the actual review? If anyone has any questions they would ask i'm sure. Don't be so hard on yourself girl. Take the easier door sometimes, your allowed. Smile

Kathy D

Sorry,

I get p____ I mean ticked when I lose one or two. I'd really be saying some bad words if I lost that many.

I think that's a good idea.

Like the others suggested, it would be easier for you just enter the titles and skip adding any body.  I'd never suggest such a thing except I know 100% that you've read the books and I know how terrible it is for you to have lost all your reviews & post-its.  So take it easy and be gentle on your nerves.

We love your wit and humor, Sadhbh, and so we're trying to safeguard it.  After all, if you go crazy from doing all these reviews over again..... that would NOT be a good thing!  Smile

i'm going to try and type them up again, but I'm not making any promises at the moment.

Sadhbh

Hugs...

My heart goes out to you.  This is one of those times when technology makes you say a lot of bad words!! Laughing  Most of the time I wouldn't want to be without it but there are times you want to smash it!!

Please don't get stressed over recreating all that.  My suggestion is like everyone else, list the book, author, etc. for the count & don't do the rest unless you remember that book.  Some of them don't leave us!  Good luck with whatever decision you make.

I'm glad you and the family are all safely home. Smile  Cool

Take care, happy reading,

Oh Crap!

Yell Sadhbh that really, really bites... but you know that of course.  Undecided

Well, if it makes you feel any better I swore a blue streak for you... hope that your computer heard every nasty word!  Tongue out

Aw Sadhbh, I'm sorry, that

Aw Sadhbh, I'm sorry, that does suck.  I've had a couple instances at the day job where I've lost hours of work--Excel spreadsheets, programs, etc.  I have no choice but to go in and redo all of it, and I'll tell you, that's the worst.  The whole time I'm doing it over I'm thinking, "this is a waste, this sucks, this is a waste...."

I feel for you!

My Dearest Gnat!

I'm soooo sorry.  Coming on top of the vacation that wasn't a vacation, that really bites the big one.  Tell you what.  Exceptionally, I'll authorize you to post just the titles and "lost blog $%§*% NFM".Wink  Now that you have my authorization, what more do you need?Innocent

March's Member of the Month!

I spent the weekend trying to make up for that lost time, and given that I won't have the boys to bug me on Wednesday thanks to day camp, and that it's also nearly the end of the month, I'll see how far I get in two hours on Wednesday morning, working backwards in my blog from the books I read this weekend

That way I'll only have "lost" time to read a book or two (that's something I should be able to make up in September when I'm back to my "usual" routine) and if I manage to type fast enough and to avoid the temptation of surfing on eharl, I should get a fair few of the backlog retyped.

Of course knowing how things have been going for me lately, those plans will have turned to mush by Wednesday evening, but I live in hope!

Hugs

Sadhbh

and with all this support, I'm not so depressed anymore so that's already a lot better from my pov

Sounds like a Good Plan

Hi, Sadhbh
That's sounds like a good plan.  Glad to know that you are back & sound better than before.

Looking forward to read your reviews/blogs.  In the meantime, take it easy.
