Melinda Morrow is back in the town where she grew up, divorced and the mother of 3 y.o. triplets. She left with her husband at 18 and didn't look back until parenthood made her grow up but not her dh. Her best friend from growing up is Carly -- now Carl -- Cutler.
Melinda has no idea how much she hurt Carl when she left and cut him and the rest of the town off. Carl doesn't want to be friends again but can't help himself. He's never stopped loving Melinda and Melinda with kids is irresistible. The Melinda who returns to town is someone worth knowing, not just for Carl but for us. She appreciates how good Carl is, how dependable, how steadfast. She wonders how she always overlooked that before.
A good story with likable characters, including Carl's family. I liked how true, kind and down-to-earth Carl is and I really liked Melinda, who was matter of fact about having needed to grow up. I imagine if you've read the earlier books that you'll enjoy seeing the whole family. Last (?) in "The Cutlers of the Shady Lady Ranch" series. NFM
