'I have no intention of selling.'
Mike had made her position perfectly clear. She could not abandon her share of Kingston Air, the business her grandfather had built. And especially not to a cold, calculating business machine like Luke Duncan.
She was uneasily aware that Luke was not a man who liked to be thwarted. It was obvious that he wouldn't have left even a minor investment to a girl he regarded as barely competent.
Perhaps it was time, Mike decided, that Luke learned there was no such thing as an unequal partnership!
My Review:
This was a nice light read. I liked that the hero fell in love with her. I liked how he told her he loved her, with no expectations or conditions placed on her. I liked how he doggedly kept pursuing her, even when she rejected his love, he never for once intended giving her up.
Small issues with the book: the hero met the heroine at night by the side of the road and kissed her, then didn't recognize her the next day (I find that hard to believe) and the hero/heroine were pretty restrained about sex (the reader was left outside the bedroom, so it wasn't a very sensual read). Enjoyable book, no ick factors.
Rating: 3/5 stars, not too memorable, but a happy light read!
