I stole the idea of putting the ratings under favorites from Deb - great idea!
Last year my blogs really were kind of free form. I saw so many others with great rating systems that I would never be able to follow through on but thought I would try to be a little more organized anyway. So, the plan for this year is characters, plot, and who would I share this book with:
my mother (little to no sex, violence, or bad language)
my friends/sisters (some sex, violence, and/or bad language)
my best friend (almost anything goes)
just hide it in a box on the top bookshelf (it should come in a plain brown asbestos wrapper).
don't bother to even read the jacket - after some debate and not to be too unkind, this is for those books that consumed time I (regretfully) will never get back again.

Rating System
Cynthia, I love your rating system... and the emoticons are perfect! What a great idea... and they sure get the point across without being too hard to remember.
I set up a rating system this year as well ~ well, okay "set up" might be a *slight* exaggeration... okay darn it! I stole it... *sheesh* ~ so that my reviews would be a little more consistent as well. And there were so many good ones around that I borrowed a bit here, and a bit from there et Voila!
But I might come back to something like yours....
*Hmmm, nice and easy, short and to the point... what's not to like?*
