I am a big CR fan, but this book just didn’t do it for me. Kelly and Michael were childhood sweethearts, who broke up when Michael asked Kelly to choose him over her family. When Kelly found out she was pregnant, she went back to find him, but he had disappeared. After searching, she goes on with her life, when she sees Mitch Valentine, a computer guru – who has just written a book. She realizes it is Michael goes to see him and then lets him know about his child. Here is my problem. Michael can’t forgive her for not finding him before – okay, wait, he moved out – no forwarding address, admitted he lived in a car and then changed his name a year or two after. I am sorry, but how much searching was she suppose to do. I hate books were someone keeps a child from a parent for no good reason, but egads, she did look for him and he basically had gone on the lam. I just couldn’t get past his continuing anger and I though if I was Kelly I would have first explained to him how I had looked for him and then popped him one. Overall, not my favorite CR book.

Not finding Father
I read one recently that dealt with this same issue. "One Small Secret" was the name of the book. The heroine spent the better part of a year trying to contact the hero. The hero had inherited a company and she couldn't get through the corporated mumbo jumbo to reach him. He still had the nerve to tell her that she should have tried harder.
I wanted to tell him "Well, you should have checked." You do something that could result in children. Its not just her responsibility to tell you. Its your responsibility to find out!
Ugh!!!
Laughter is an instant vacation- Milton Berle
That was my response too.
That was my response too. I understand being POed if the woman never contacted you, but if she stated that she did and there is a legitimate reason why it might have been difficult, don't be an *ss. It annoyed me in the beginning, but killed me at the BBM, when it came back to this issue.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I completly agree with your take on the book. I mean really how long is she supposed to look for someone that isnt wanting to be found. And really what a JERK acting like she should have chosen him over her family! I do like CR but this was not my favorite of hers. Happy Reading!!

It is funny as a unexpected pregnancy book is what drew me to CR, it was about three friends from a small town and the girl gets pregnant by her boss, I loved the girl's honesty with her boss about everything. I think it was Executive Sweetheart. Although one of my favorites of hers is Behind the Mask, the story of the Prince from her made-up country.

Cady ~ I was interested in seeing your take on this CR. I've yet to receive my copy, but I'd read a couple of reviews that had me wondering. I enjoy most of work, especially Man Behind the Mask, and Executive Sweetheart was a favorite as well and it looks like it is going to be a while before we he form Bowie Bravo, too.

Kate, as you know I am a big CR fan, but Mitch just p*ssed me off. I understand being upset and angry at first, but holding on to it, just doesn't work for me. I think her next story will be the brother, Tanner, and Mitch's friend Crystal.
