This was a really good coming-of-age read--kind of like the Notebook meets the Pilot's Wife. I enjoyed that the book consisted of current events and recollections of the past through journal entries and letters. My favorite part of this book was the fact that Winters allowed the characters to be flawed--never did she attempt to protect the character's faults, instead she showed how sometimes even the most "perfect" love is multi-faceted and does not always come easy. I recommend this book if you are looking for a short, sweet romance that is a bit unconventional.
