Romantic Comedy
I recently read Wanna Make A Bet by Stacy Dawn. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a delightful read and would recommend it as a fun, terrific read.
Jay Coltrane, who has his own landscaping business rents out an apartment to Sophie Montgomery, a up and coming talented artist. Jay is known for his playboy persona - let's face it the women love him. Harvey is Jay's bulldog, that Sophie looks after during the day and is a real loveable character throughout the book.
Sophie has moved to Graceport to help her friend Julia and to finally do something that she has always wanted to do - paint. She is building a name for herself and is an up an coming talented artist. She is determined not to give up everything for anyone, she has seen what happens to people who do that first hand and has vowed never to fall into that pattern. Although she is drawn to Jay, she is not going to give into her basic feelings.
Jay finds Sophie a distraction, but with all of his friends getting married, he stands to win a sizeable bet made back in college. The bet being the last one single wins the pot. Sophie is adamant that she is immune to Jay, but Jay wants a chance to prove that she is not immune to him. In front of their friends he says the words "wanna make a bet". Sophie will not back down from the bet, but soon finds the folly of the words. Emotions run high and both have a journey to overcome their past, and possibly make a future.
