The Chronicles of the Warlands, Book One

SHE MUST CHOOSE BETWEEN HER PEOPLE AND HER FREEDOM...

Xylara is the Daughter of the Warrior King, Xyron. With her father dead and her incompetent half-brother on the throne, the kingdom is in danger of falling to the warring Firelanders.

Before she was old enough for a marriage-of-alliance, Xylara was trained as a healer. She can't usurp her brother or negotiate a peace--but she can heal the brave ones injured in battle.

But not only her countrymen are wounded, and Xylara's conscience won't let Firelander warriors die when she can do something to save them. She learns their language and their customs and tries to make them as comfortable as possible, despite their prisoner-of-war status.

She never expects that these deeds, done in good faith, would lead to the handsome and mysterious Firelander Warlord demanding her in exchange for a cease-fire. Xylara knows must trade the life she has always known for the well-being of her people, and so she becomes...

My Review:

Wow!  I inhaled this book!  I could not put it down.  Lara was very heroic in her deeds.  And I fell in love with the Warlord, whose actions spoke louder than his words.  Loved this book, and I can't wait to dive into book number two, Warsworn, to see what is next in store for Lara and her H.   Thank you to KathleenDoney, whose excellent reviews of these books last year, led me to purchasing all three books at the same time.  Thank goodness!Smile

My Rating: 5++++

Glad...

to see you enjoyed this one!  She has a new one out that is set in the same world, I think.  It's in my stack to read but I haven't quite gotten to it yet.  Soon though....

Same here!

Same here! I thought these books were great and picked up her new book to read soon. Glad you enjoyed this one.

Hey Debi and Deb!

Hey Debi!

Oh, I heard she had a new book coming out; I didn't realize it was already released.  Do you know if we meet the main charater in the Warprize books?  I will be starting the second book soon.  I am very curious to see what happens next.  The back blurb has me quite curious.

Hey Deb!

I can't wait to see what you think of her new one.  I wonder how much it is related to Lara and Kier, and if they play any part in the new one.  Like I told Debi above, I didn't realize it was even out yet.  Guess I better get reading!Smile

Tammy

I absolutely love Elizabeth

I absolutely love Elizabeth Vaughan!!!  I couldn't put either of her books down when I read them last year.  I know you'll love all three!!

I will be getting, Dagger-Star, which is her new book.  I just haven't gotten around to buying it yet.

So many books I do have to get...I think I better make up a list or I might get lost in the sea of books that I intend to buy!!  LOL  Laughing

Hey Shelley!

Hey Shelley!

I am sure I will love the next two books in the trilogy.  Elizabeth Vaughn seems to just pull you right into her story.

Do you know who the h is in Dagger-Star?  I am curious if we meet her in the three War books.

I know... so many books!!  I know one book you don't need to write on your list, as there is no way you will forget it.....that's coming out very, very soon....Smile...and features a Phury.

Take Care,

Tammy

TammyPhury's book id

Tammy

Phury's book is definitely one I don't need to add to the list.  I would never, NEVER forget to buy this one!!  Here is Elizabeth's website to read a little blurb about her new book. http://www.eavwrites.com/

The heroine is Red Gloves and the hero is Josiah.  I don't remember either of their names.  So, I'd say her new book has new characters but is set in the same time and place as her other books.

Hey Shelley!

Hey Shelley!

Heehee, I didn't think you would forget Phury!  Do you have your copy pre-ordered, or do you plan to try and find it in a store right away?

Thank you so much for the link!  It sounds like a really good story.  What an imagination Elizabeth Vaughan has!  I don't recognize either of the names either.  But then, I still have the second and third book to read.

Take Care,

Tammy
