We took Ellen to the Zoo

What a lovely way to start a day...met EllenToo and Susan at the zoo! Now, I have four kids who've gone through zoo school! I know the zoo. I've held most holdable animals. Well, except the giant hissing cockroach from Madagascar. I draw the line at cockroaches, even if they hiss. My son has never recovered from the disappointment!

Ellen didn't seem to mind that the hissing cockroaches had never been held by yours truly! LOL Had such a good time! I'm so glad she came to town!

The zoo has feeding hours. You can buy a cup of nectar and they'll eat right out of your hand. Cool. But sometimes they do get cheeky! LOL

Here's the bird on Holly's purse. I think it was trying to get her wallet. It's a pickpocket bird. LOL. Holly w orang Also, check out this photo. I don't know if you will be able to see it clearly here, but this is the orangatang, and Holly can be seen on the other side of the window, sitting, watching it. That's what's great about our zoo -- you can get really close to the animals.
