I just joined Biggest Loser 4, the town I live in has it twice a year. I was in it last year when it started in September and by the beginning of December I had lost 15lbs. The only thing is...I was really bad over the holidays and gained 9 of it back

I am very determined to do even better this time around. Last time I never walked, not even once. I just joined today and went for a walk today!!

If anyone wants to do this with me and weight in on a weekly basis let me know. I would love to do this online as well!!
We can list weight loss only or starting weight, current weight, and weight loss. It is totally up to the person what he/she would like to display. It can be all of it or a combination, just as long as the individual is comfortable with what they list.
Here in town we usually weight in every Thursday or Friday. So if you're in, that's what we'll do here as well! Let me know and we can discuss all the details. You can reply here or email at s_a_downton@yahoo.ca

Good luck, Shelley! I gained weight over the holidays, too, of course...and then I planned to start back into my workout routine and then got sick. Darn it! Hopefully next week...

I actually started back to my exercise routine this year as well so I'm hoping to stick with it. We'll see how it goes but I've been making myself incorporate that routine into my daily schedule... and so far,it's working. Cuts into my reading time, though.

I'll be emailing you. I'd like to join you but I'm not up to knowing how much I weigh. Here's what I propose. i'll have someone weigh me at home. And although I won't diet right away, I'll just keep changing some life habits liek I've recently stopped drinking black soft drink in favor of drinking only water. I propose to make my lunch every day this week and to start exercising every day. Someone can weigh me and I'll report in my success in my life changes. Is that acceptable to you? And when I'm ready to check my weight, I'll do it. But I may never be ready. I'm not too proud of myself. I've let myself go.

Any way you want to do this is fine with me. I know how very hard it is to lose weight to only gain it all back plus more. I myself have avoided the weight scale as I knew I had gained weight but didn't want to know how much at the time. Life changes is the best way to ensure that the weight stays off. You have to be satified with the way you eat in order to stick with it. Drinking water is a great start...and one that is not always easy to stick to.
I said I was going to exercise this time around and only managed to go on one walk so far. It has been so cold lately and I am so easily deterred. Right now I am eating in moderation but having what I want. For example, I will eat burgar and fries but only one hamburger and just a handful of fries. Where as before I ate 2 burgers and whatever fries that could be put on the plate.
Anything you do at this point will make a difference. Taking it slow is not a bad thing as people who lose their weight fast almost always gain it back. I'll be looking for your email and I'll be a support person for you when you need it. We can go through this together!!

I posted on the upside of downsizing but I figured I'd post here too. I am so proud!! I just weighed in again today. I am so pleased with the progress I am making!! I lost another 1.8 lbs!!!!!
That's 10.4 lbs since January 10th. Look out when summer hits. I am going to be proud to wear my shorts and bathing suit. I may even go to the beach this year!! Can you say new bathing suit...the old ones won't fit anymore, woohoo!

Hey Shelley ~ Congratulations! Probably the biggest part of any weight loss regimen is making changes that you can live with... hence why diets rarely work for an extended period of time. (Yeah, like I know anything.

Oh, and I got rid of our scale aeons ago... right around the time that my oldest daughter hit about 10 or 11 and all her friends were "dieting" because they weighed too much. UGH! So we've been scale-less for, oh about 12 years now. And I don't miss it at all... mind you every once in a while someone complains, but I do know that the number isn't what they care about ~ it's how they feel, fitness ability and healthy eating. Man, where were they when I needed to lose weight? Oh, right.. .they're WHY I need to lose lbs.! LOL (not really; I know it's me.

Chocolate cookies
Well mom made my absolute favorite cookies the other day. So for two days in a row I had a few of those cookies.
I can only hope that it doesn't affect my weight loss to much. But we all have hard days and I'm back on track today. I don't have to weigh in until Sat, so that will give me a few days to be good. I think I will still lose but not as much as usual. Which is ok with me as long as I don't gain...any loss is good!!

I just wanted to pop in and tell you all how I am doing.
I weighed in today and was down 1.4 lbs!! That is excellent considering I have been eating my favorite cookies on and off all week.
I have had several people say to me that they can tell I have weight gone!! I can see the difference in myself as well. Especially when I wear my jeans.
So far I have lost a total of 11.8 lbs since Jan 10th!!

Another weigh in
I was blown away today when I went to weigh in. I never thought I would see what I saw on that scale. It's not 5 lbs or anything but we had a couple of birthdays and of course I had to have a piece or two of cake.
It was 2 lbs that I lost!! I though maybe 1 lb at most but 2...I was very surprised and happy with that!! So now I have a total of 13.8 lbs gone since Jan 10th.
I feel great and I'm starting to look great too!! Check out the link above to see my weight loss graph!

I did better than I thought I would do this week. I lost 1.4 lbs ! I am so happy with that result. I was knocked out of first place last week so, now I am in second place. The person who beat me lost like 4.8 lbs. No beating that at this point. I can only hope that my 1.4 will put me back in first place after this week. I only have to go until the next weigh in to find out.

Well it's been a couple of
Well it's been a couple of weeks since I last checked in. Last week I had the flu and was laid up for a week or so. It was so bad that it took the good right out of me. I couldn't even walk the length of myself for a couple of days. Anyway, I weighed in yesterday and only lost 0.4 lbs. What can I expect I guess...at least I didn't gain. Total weight lost is 15.6 lbs! I'm hoping to have another 15 lbs gone by the end of June.

Well, I had to weigh in
Well, I had to weigh in today even though I didn't want to. I got a call and the town's biggest loser is over after today...so I had to weigh in.
I thought I would be up even more than what I was considering I usually weigh in when I first wake up. And this time I weighed in in the middle of the day. Anyway, I only gained 0.4 lbs which was what I lost the last time I weighed in. So not that bad I guess.
I'll let you know how I place. I was in second place and hopefully I keep it that way. I would say it's either second or third. Should find out soon!! Keep you all posted.
Now I just need to figure out a new way to keep motivated. I think I will weigh in with Tops. Tops is where women get together and weigh. Then they say if they were up, down, or the same in front of everyone. I need to tell people what is happening with my weight then, I know I'll keep on track. Otherwise...well you know...

Aurelene, I was so happy that Ali won The Biggest Loser as well!! It is about time that a girl won. Ali is so deserving of it as well...just look at all the weight she lost!! Wow...she is at 122 lbs...that's awesome.
I will definitely be watching the show when it comes on again.
I'm at 165 and have about 25 more lbs to go. Hopefully by the end of June I'll have that gone or at least most of it!!
