June is always a month we think of for Bridal Showers and Weddings.  And it's the month the kids are finally sprung from school and Dad's get their big day.  

Now I know Pro Rodeo Season is alreay underway, but I also think of June as the start of the Summer Circuit.   Small towns start to have their county fairs with barbeques and rodeos.   So I thought we could have some fun in the rodeo corals!

Okay...so I really mean it this time.  TODAY is the release date for HER LONE COWBOY!

Next month it will be on the shelves in the UK, with Diana Palmer  in a 2 in 1.  And the month after that it is out in Australia and New Zealand. 

The day had been a bit "pants" as Kate Hardy would say, so something nice happened as I was vacuuming and making supper - I got my review for HER LONE COWBOY from The Pink Heart Society Reviews.  I actually had blink and a sniff about it.  You guys KNOW

Since Holly has ventured into "Opt-ism" territory this year, I do hope she doesn't mind me borrowing her Glee for a while.  I'm in the middle of a raging deadline and holding my pitch contest etc. but this week there was a definite bit of Glee that came my way.

Every time a new book hits the shelves, there’s a certain level of excitement.  The thrill of seeing a book in a shop or in a customer’s hand never goes away.  But sometimes the excitement is really great, and this is one of those times for me.

I did a Larch Valley blog today and then realized that OMG I haven't posted the covers and blurbs for the duet!

Sometimes writing can seem to go at a snail's pace. It feels like nothing is happening. You're waiting to hear back from your editor, or you're in between releases, or no new reviews have popped up...and so it sometimes feels like you're not making any forward motion. I'm not sure if that makes sense or not, but there you go.

Great news!  I handed in the first book of my 2010 duet!  I hit the go button last week on Rescued by the Rancher (working title).  Fingers crossed my editor likes it as much as I do. 

I'm rushing headlong into the end of this book, and I feel the need for a little pick me up.  A sure fire cure?  Eye candy.  And so I thought, why not let people meet the heroes of Larch Valley?

Hey all!  It's been a while since I did a Larch Valley post so I thought I'd keep you up to date with the goings on. 

Dear Margaret,

I'm so sorry my last letter got cut short.  My soul, I don't seem to move as fast as I used to.  By the time I closed up shop for the day and made my way home to dinner and a load of laundry, I decided I'd better just post what I had to you and pick up another day.

Today was the release day for The Rancher's Runaway Princess!  Here's how I celebrated.

I checked my e-mail, noticed that THIS thread was featured in the Harlequin newsletter, had a squee moment, and then did the school bus run.

I guest blogged at three different blogs today and checked in for comments throughout the day.

I often get asked how I get my ideas, and sometimes truly they come from "what if" and sometimes they come from something specific and most of the time they are a blend of a lot of things.

Hey everyone and Happy New Year!  Nothing like kicking it off with a brand new book!  My latest Romance is the first in a series of titles set in the fictional town of Larch Valley, Alberta.  Join me, along with my special correspondent from Larch Valley, Agnes Dodds,  as we blog about the trials and tribulations of the people that make up this small Canadian western town!

When I found out I was going to be writing several stories in one setting, I knew I wanted the chance to create my own town with all the best things I love about the Canadian west.

There really is a Larch Valley in Banff National Park, and it's a popular hiking destination.  In fact, the picture in the banner above was taken by my friend and Superromance author, CJ Carmichael.  Gorgeous, isn't it!  I knew my town of Larch Valley had to have the mountains nearby.  I also knew it had to have the rolling glory of the foothills for the ranches around it, and when I devised the main street, I couldn't help but think of the charming town of Cochrane,  which lies just west of Calgary.
