What’s Your Favorite Current Harlequin Book Cover?
Has a book cover caught your eye? Have you found one you really like? Did a particular cover make you buy the book? Have you bought books simply because you liked the cover art? I know I have.
I have to admit that this post is an effort to force me to learn how to post a book cover. My first attempts may not work but here goes.
Shown somewhere on this post should be the cover for: “On the Wings of Love” by Elizabeth Lane. This is my current favorite cover and I might buy it.
However, the cover for “A Notorious Woman” by Amanda McCabe motivated me to immediately buy the book!. So there you go.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Vince

Favorite Book Cover
This is my favorite cover right now. Also, my first time to post a book cover, so I hope I did it right.
I've definitely bought books because the cover caught my eye.
On the Wings of Love looks interesting.

Favorite Book Cover
Will not try to post a cover - I am not that good yet.
I loved the cover of The December Romantic Supsense - Lazlo's Last Stand. It was very striking - vivid blue eyes and dark hair.
Also a book a couple of years ago by Suzanna McMinn - Deep Blue - a man comiing up out of the water and awesome blue eyes.
I think I am seeing a trend here.

The Book I Bought
Hi Lynn:
Your picture worked fine. It was also the first time I posted a picture in a blog. I do not know if I can post two pictures in the same blog so I will try again and post the cover that caused me to buy “A Notorious Woman” at once.
I think there are two things going on here. One picture may be so attractive that you buy the book. Another picture can capture a theme that is an "auto-buy" for you and also sell the book. That’s what this cover did. I also think it is a very attractive cover as well.
Now, I’ll see if I can do this again if I can only remember how I did it the first time.
Thanks,
Vince

Great Cover -- I had to try and Post it! Thanks.
Hi TXREADER 2:
I just had to try and post your picture. Did you read last week in the news that some scientists now think that all blue-eyed people have a single common ancestor? That cover does stand out.
These covers are proving to be very interesting. I would have predicted that they would all be historical or paranormals.
Thanks,
Vince

Book covers. The
Book covers.
The Dollmaker by Amanda Strevens is my all time favorite cover
CREEPY COVERS
And this next cover below I just find beautiful. I want to read this one mostly because the cover is so beautiful even though the subject may not appeal to me 100%
Basically, I think MIRA and Worldwide Mystery and maybe Rogue Angels have the most appealing covers to me.

Family Challenge Team: The Spine Breakers with my dh Glenn AKA Phaedrus

I don't know if the cover is my #1 influence when it comes to book buying. But I know I am more attraracted to cover where it doesn't look like the cover models are posing.
Lynn- I like the cover for Tex Appeal too. Partly because he isn't staring right at the camera and partly because of the bare chest.

Great covers!
I was able to post a photo on my blog, but not sure how to do it in a comment.
Hi
Hi ChrissieSue:
I didn't know how to do it either. I just guessed. I'm not sure how you do a picture for your blog but this is what I did.
I found the picture on eHarlequin. Then I saved it to my computer, "My Pictures", changing the name to something simple like "Wings". Then I uploaded the picture to my business website. Then I brought that picture up on my browser while I was on the net. For example, www.vmres.com/wings.jpg . When the picture came up I copied it with the mouse button. Then I went to this site and pasted it into the comment box just like it was copy. The picture appeared. Then I just added the copy. This was all it takes.
I have my own business website so it is easy for me. But there are sites you can use for this purpose if you don't have your own.
I am still just learing how to do this. All learning has been today!
Perhaps you can make this work. I'd love to see what you think is the best cover.
Thanks,
Vince

Both KatherineT and Tammy have blogs on posting picture. Tammy did hers before the tree editor was available to us so she has more instructions in the January 13 comment. Sometimes if the cover is older it may not be available at eharlequin. you can also try author websites, book sellers, Amazon, ebay, etc... I usually get my picture from fictiondb or Shelfari. I also have an account at photobucket where I upload the covers to a file called "book covers"

Carol Grace Book Cover is also a Favorite
Hi Christa:
I also favor your choice cover on the Carol Grace book. Three times over the last month I have been drawn to the art and read the summary of the book and each time I had to remind myself that I really don’t like themes where husbands and wives get back together. I like a fresh romance. However, the cover keeps calling me back. Highly noticeable.
Thanks,
Vince

Another place for older book covers...
is FantisticFiction.com. I find a lot of the older Harlequin covers there.

Rogue cover
I am not a cover person per se. Truthfully, I hardly notice unless they REALLY stand out. The cover for ROGUE by Rachel Vincent is excellent!
The D2K Paranormal Junkies 2008 Challenge

Yeah that another good one. What I usually do is a search of the authors name and then check sites one by one.
Vince- I think the naturalness of that cover caught my eye. The cover models don't even look as if they notice that they may be photographed.
Debi since I do much of my shopping online I think maybe covers come in fourth. I go through the upcoming section(here) first authors, then lines, then titles, maybe then covers and blurbs

Hi Vince,
It's easy to post a photo on a Blog Entry as there is an Image, Choose File section. I picked up a photo from my computer with that. But that feature isn't available for Book Reviews or blog comments. I'll try and see what I can figure out. I tried the insert/edit image icon at the bottom of the comments box, guess I didn't do it right. I can't get emotocons or formatting to work either. I think I stepped back in time. Maybe it's a Mac thing.
Another Great Cover
Here is another great cover that I just discovered.
I just love the ability to post pictures. It is worth learning how to do.
Thanks,
Vince
