What to do?... What to do?

I stopped into a drugstore on my lunch hour today and discovered a gold mine!  Linda Howards PB release "Up Close and Dangerous" and Anne Stuart's latest in the Ice Series "Fire And Ice" were on their book shelves.  I grabbed both.  Now which one do I read first?  Decisions, Decisions!

Choosing is a constant

Choosing is a constant dilemma for me as well.

I'm curious which book you decided on?

I just close my eyes and grab.  lol  No, just kidding.  It is hard to decide sometimes.

I chose LH

and, you know, I was disappointed.  I finished the book last night and the ending wasn't worth staying up late for.  I've always enjoyed LH's books so I need to think about why I didn't care for this one.  It could be their being trapped on a mountain in cold conditions.  I'll blog it later after I've analyzed my feelings on it.

I thought i had that one, but on checking i don't, so i guess i won't race out to buy it, at least till i'm caught up on everything else of hers waiting, and at this rate, i'll never run out. lol

HI Paisley!

I have always adored Linda Howard and actually I purchased the Nocturne only because she was the author.  I enjoyed the series but I don't think it was as good as her other books.  Why do I like her writing?  It's suspenseful, intense, sometimes a little psychic and the romances are excellent (and hot too, sometimes).  This one, UCAD, just wasn't up to her usual nail-biting suspense and I found the romance a little to quick to be believable.  That said LH could write a phone book and I'd still buy it!  So this one wasn't as good as her usuals but it still better than a lot others.

If you want to try other LH's I recommend:  Dying to Please, Cry No More (excellent, have some hankies ready!) Dream Man, Mr. Perfect, Son of the Morning (really, really good) Killing Time (good time-travel twist) and for a hilarious laugh out loud time:  To Die For and it's sequel Drop Dead Gorgeous.  I almost didn't read TDF because it is written in the 1st person POV - what a big mistake I almost made.

I have her entire backlist and there's not a bad one in the bunch.  I love her older Harlequins too.

Oops, i was just logging

Oops, i was just logging some books i had waiting here and low and behold, i do have UCAD. I bought it last week-end from Costco in PG.  It was on the bottom of the stack and i didn't see it. Goes to show i didn't buy it for the title etc., but because it was written by LH.

I enjoy most everything she writes, so therefor try to buy most everything she writes.
