The back of this book is a letter from Lisa so I'm not going to type the blurb like I
usually do. Suffice it to say that she re-wrote/updated her first book and re-titled
it as well.
I hadn't read her first book and I love Lisa Kleypas so I picked it up. I love the complex heroes and heroines that she creates and Max and Lysette are no exceptions. The story is set in Louisiana in the early 1800s and features actual history. I thought that that was awesome. I'm uncomfortable reading books where slavery is commonplace due to my personal feelings on the issue, but I feel that she dealt with it respectfully and truthfully. I would recommend this to others and it is going in my keeper pile
with the rest of her books.
