When I read Kathy D's blog entry that she got her copy of Lover Enshrined I was sooo jealous.
I had to figure out how to get my copy too. So last night I went online to Chapters.ca and looked up our local bookstore. And low and behold it said the store had 24 copies! Yep, that's right 24 COPIES!! So I woke up this morning and made the 20 minute drive into the city and hit Coles.
I walked in and saw all the copies of Lover Enshrined sitting there on the top two shelves!! Well, it took all of my will power not to jump up and down right there in the store. As I bought the book I just had to tell the sales clerk how great JR is and that this is the best series that I've ever read!!
So now I'm going to snuggle up and get reading. The only thing is: I have to work all weekend. I can only hope that we are not too busy and the patients don't buzz out to much. We have hourly rounds but we all take turns doing that. So if everything goes well I should get some serious reading time in!!!!!
I'll check back every now and then to tell you what I think of the book along the way.

Ooh Im jealous! I have to wait for mine to be shipped. Im not going to read other blogs on this until I'm done though. I guess it will be shipped next week I need to check my email. But I really hope you are able to get in some quality reading time these books require zero interruption!

I have mine too! The bookstore called and told me it was in and I immediately called my hubby and told (begged) him to stop at the store on his way home from work to pick it up for me.
So far it's wonderful! Not that there was any doubt.

I am going to check KMart and Target tomorrow but I never have any luck with the stores putting the books out early here. I think the workers are just lazy.

I found mine today too!
I stopped by the bookstore to reserve a copy for Tuesday and there they were. I almost did a happy dance too!
But isn't it annoying - all the good books that have been recently released... how do we choose? Well. of course, JRW goes to the top but I did have plans for another this weekend, Karen Robards Obsession. Oh well, it will be waiting for me!

Well I'm on page 184 now. I did get some reading done last nigth but not much as I wanted of course. The secong night is always usually better than the first....so more reading time hopefully!!
I was surprised right at the beginning. The I found it a little slow for a while there. It just took a little bit for the action to kick in. And as we all know JR cannot write a bad book and I am enjoying this one to the fullest.

I'm glad you got your copy early. I'm going to wait until Tuesday. You realize J.R. doesn't get any money for books bought early. I just came from the brotherhood boards. If a seller puts a book out early it hurts the author. They don't get the money or the count toward bestsellers for books sold early. I know it's hard waiting for a book to come out I'm eagerly waiting for Tuesday I'll be in Barnes and Noble bright and early

I knew that
when a book was bought early and if the bookseller reports to the NYT then they don't get credit for advance sales but I was under the impression that not all booksellers report their sales.

just getting ready to post that! Not all booksellers do post their sales and I think Walmart may even be one that doesn't. I feel no guilt anyway since my copy is a review copy but the entire concept of not counting all the sales for purposes of what is bestselling makes NO sense to me! After all, the author still gets the royalties so SOMEWHERE those sales must be counted so why not for that purpose? *sigh* If someone happens to know why that is, I'd love to know....

I agree Shelley, that JRW hasn't written a bad book yet, though i am in the slow spot you mentioned, and look forward to things picking up again.
Like you Debi, i am confused as to how JRW can get paid royalties for each book, but there be no knowledge of how many books she's sold.

I hope that everyone has found their Lover Enshrined copies. I am on page 335 so far and I've had the book since May 30th. There has been a lot going on the last week. I actually stayed up until 4:30 last night reading. When I got up to go to bed I was shocked. I didn't realize that so much time had gone by. I just couldn't seem to put it down.
The girls were talking about page 262 and I can see what they mean. The next page they talked about is 399 and I hope to get there before I go to work tonight. Pages 494-497 (ch 51) was also mentioned! Since that's almost to the end of the book I bet that chapter will be awesome.

I am now on page 435 and WOW, WoW, Wow. There are so many pages that I could note...too many really! What an intense read!! If I didn't have to get ready for work right now, I would not put Phury's book down until the end.
The Conpendium will be great but it's going to be one h*ll of a wait for Rehvenge's book. All I know is that his story is going to something MAJOR!!

I panicked at 262 and was a bit relieved at 399. Wow's are a good description for the rest. Awesome as usual but now the wait is one again.

Well, I'm finished!! And what a book it is. One thing I do have to say is that I wanted more of Phury and Chornia though. But there is so much going on in this book. There are a few new characters and some old. I am sad that I've got it all read now, I may just have to start it again. It's going to be an extra wait for the Conpendium for sure. Not only that, the wait for Rehv is going to be killer. I know that Rehv will be one intense character. I wonder what JR has in store for him and who his HEA will be?

Yeah...
a lot of romance readers are saying the same about the main characters. I prefer urban fantasy and this one really was more along those lines so to me this was one of the better books she was written, but I know that is a matter of taste. I have to say... I am NOT looking forward to Rehv's story and I was before. But some of those scenes... nope, not looking forward anymore as it's totally outside my comfort zone!

I agree with you about this fully. I loved this book! There was a lot going on and I love reading about the Brotherhood as well as the lessers. No matter JR's books are always great.
As to Rehv, he is very intense isn't he. I'm sure there may some things I may not be so comfortable with. Once he gets rid of you know who his story can really blossom. I wonder who it is going to help him out with that situation. I say Phury maybe? Xhex?

I'm poking along and am
I'm poking along and am about half way thru so far. I may be working by myself tomorrow, so that means a real busy day for me likely. Glad to hear most of you are enjoying Phury's story. I'm a little concerned about Rev's story as well. By the sounds of it, there are more worries to come in this book.
I'm trying real hard to stay away from any LE reviews till i'm done, and read this thread with one eye closed, just in case.
