Since You Are Leaving Anyway, Take Out the Trash by Dixie Cash

Format: Print Books
Series: Other

This is the first in a couple of books about Debbie Sue Overton.  She currently owns a beauty shop in Salt Lick, Texas.  She is constantly fighting money battles and has been divorced for three years.  When the richest woman in Texas is killed and her husband offers a 50K reward for finding the killer, she is determined (sort-of) to find him or her.  This was an amusing story that shows some of the hard licks that small towns take.  The characters were fun.  The mystery was interesting, but not real compelling.  I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

TBR--The Born Readers

I read this

I read this a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. I have the second one in the pile, it's been there since it first came out. I figured I'd enjoy it just haven't been compelled to read it yet.

Hi Cady,

I read this one a couple years ago and enjoyed it. I didn't buy book#2 though, so i look forward to hearing what you think of it.

I can see why book 2 might

I can see why book 2 might sit in your TBR, book 1 was enjoyable but not so compelling that I have to get book 2 tomorrow.  However, knowing that it is out and that they are only on book 3, I kind of want to jump into book 2 and catch up with the series.  It will be interesting to see what they do in 2, as they really wrapped everyone up at the end of book 1.

I enjoy this series

Cady - I have read the 3 books to this series and am waiting for book 4 to come out this summer.....For some reason I really enjoy these characters....they seem real to me............a lot of the times I just don't relate to the characters in books so that cuts down on my enjoyment of the story.       I have also read 5 books by Anna Jeffrey who is one of the sisters in the writing duo that is Dixie Cash.  I have liked all of those.

Lisa - I am glad to hear

Lisa - I am glad to hear that book 2 & 3 are good.  I just ordered book 2 from the library.  Sometimes, I just want to power through the series as I know if I let them linger, it could be a while.
